Perhaps the more pressing issue with regard to Taylor's Week 9 fantasy upside is that Wilkins logged 20 carries (for 89 yards and a score) in the Colts' Week 8 win over the Lions, while the rookie ran the ball 11 times for 22 yards. Additionally, Nyheim Hines handled the bulk of the team's chance-of-pace touches, hauling in three of his five targets for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Ultimately, Taylor carries the highest long-term value, but Wilkins' effort versus Detroit could result in Taylor's workload being affected this weekend.

Impact The Colts will reveal later Wednesday whether Taylor practiced on a full or limited basis, but between this news and Keefer describing the rookie's ankle injury as "minor," the running back seems unlikely to miss Sunday's clash with the Ravens. If he proves his health during the week of practice, Taylor should slot back into a starting role Week 9, but projecting what kind of workload he might handle looks more dicey. Taylor was outplayed by backups Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins in last week's win over the Lions, which could prompt head coach Frank Reich to opt for more of a three-man committee in the backfield.

Impact Perhaps this helps explain Sunday's lackluster performance, as the rookie second-round pick averaged just 2.0 yards per carry and finished with 31 total yards on 13 touches. Still, Reich explained that he learned about Taylor's injury after the game, so it appears that the decision to give Jordan Wilkins more touches (21) than Taylor was based on performance, as Wilkins was more productive with 4.5 yards per carry and a touchdown. It's worth monitoring Taylor's practice status throughout the week as the Colts prepare for a home matchup against Baltimore this Sunday.

Stymied in win over Lions Taylor carried 11 times for 22 yards and caught two of three targets for an additional nine yards during Sunday's 41-21 win over the Lions.

Impact Taylor managed just 2.0 yards per carry against a beatable Detroit run defense and managed little with the passes sent his way as well. He received a couple of carries near the goal line but couldn't convert and watched as both Jordan Wilkins and Trey Burton capitalized on their respective opportunities, with Nyheim Hines contributing a pair of receiving scores. Fantasy managers had likely hoped Taylor came out of the bye week raring to go, but this poor performance was rather concerning given the seemingly inviting matchup and the success of the team's other options. Things will not get any easier in next Sunday's matchup with the Ravens.

Impact Taylor averaged a healthy 5.0 yards per carry against a beatable Bengals front, but his team unexpectedly found itself in a large early hole, which limited his rushing attempts. Fortunately for fantasy managers who started Taylor, he was excellent as a pass catcher and finished with more receiving yards than he had in his previous four games combined. The rookie has performed quite well when given the chance, but his output has perhaps been limited by a Colts offense that hasn't lived up to expectations to this point. He'll enjoy an upcoming bye before facing a beatable Lions defense in Week 8.

Impact Taylor managed a respectable 4.8 yards per carry against a solid Browns defense while scoring a four-yard touchdown to get his team on the board in the first quarter. Unfortunately, the running game was limited as Cleveland raced out to a big lead in the third quarter and he wasn't used much as a pass catcher. Still, it was something of an encouraging sign that Taylor managed respectable fantasy production in the face of adversity. He could bounce back in a big way in next Sunday's matchup with the Bengals.
