Impact Whitehead logged a limited practice Thursday while dealing with a calf injury, putting his availability for Week 13 in question. If he is unable to go Sunday versus the Falcons, Andrew Adams would likely step into a starting role alongside Antoine Winfield at safety.

Impact Whitehead's tackle tally was good enough to colead the team alongside Shaquil Barrett. The 24-year-old has been a solid IDP asset for the last month, posting at least eight tackles in three of the last four games. Any boost to Whitehead's interception numbers -- he has one pick through 10 contests -- would naturally be a welcome bonus, but the 2018 fourth-round pick will continue to hold plenty of value based on tackling numbers alone if he can keep them up.

Impact Whitehead has recorded a pass deflection in three straight games, but his lack of tackles -- 29 through seven appearances -- limits his fantasy upside. Despite his nine-tackle performance Sunday, Whitehead will likely remain a turnover dependant IDP option moving forward. The Buccaneers have a bye in Week 9, but they return to action against Washington, who has 13 turnovers though eight games.

Whitehead's tackle numbers have been relatively modest thus far -- his two stops Sunday were a season low -- with the 3.3 stops per game he's averaging putting him on pace to notch a career-low 53 if he plays each of Tampa Bay's remaining 10 games.

Impact Whitehead logged 46 snaps overall while recording his second-highest tackle total of the campaign. The fourth-year pro isn't quite matching the caliber of IDP production he mustered during a career-best 2020 season (74 tackles, 2.0 sacks, two INT, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery), but as long as he continues to hold down the starting free safety job, he should have a chance to improve his numbers as the season unfolds.
