Impact The Steelers wanted to test Allen's gumption by blitzing the signal caller early and often Sunday. The upstart quarterback was forced into some poor throws (which have been few and far between this season), but he was able to overcome the pressure and make plays when it mattered (7-for-14 on third-down plays) and secure victory over another AFC contender. Statistically, it was one of Allen's lesser performances this year, as he was completing 70.4 percent of his passes while averaging 283.6 yards and a shade under three combined touchdowns per game prior to Sunday's slow grinding victory. Next week's opponent, the Denver Broncos, also boast a tough pass defense, but they are not as aggressive in terms of blitzing the opposing quarterback (29.0 percent) compared to the Steelers (40.2 percent).

Impact Coming off his third passing effort this season of less than 200 yards in Week 12 against the Chargers, Allen shredded a 49ers defense that just got Richard Sherman back from injured reserve and had generally done an above-average job limiting opponents through the air. Allen began his scoring barrage with a five-yard touchdown pass to Cole Beasley to erase an early second-quarter deficit, and he'd go on to add scoring tosses of four, 23 and 28 yards to the trio of Dawson Knox, Isaiah McKenzie and Gabriel Davis. The third-year signal-caller did commit his 14th turnover of the season with a lost fumble on a mishandled handoff on his own three-yard line late in the first quarter, directly leading to the 49ers' first touchdown. However, Allen otherwise thrilled fantasy managers with his second-highest passing yardage total of the season and first interception-free performance in three games. He'll look to continue his stellar campaign while facing the formidable challenge of the Steelers defense in Week 14.

Impact Allen found a wide open Dawson Knox in the back of the end zone for a two-yard touchdown in the first quarter and later watched Cole Beasley throw a 20-yard touchdown on a trick play en route to a 17-6 halftime lead. The mobile quarterback briefly exited the game in the second quarter after having his leg twisted awkwardly but returned for the final play of the first half. He didn't look limited by the injury on Buffalo's first drive after halftime, diving for the pylon to score on a three-yard run. All told, Allen has a 22:8 TD:INT to go with six rushing scores heading into a Week 13 Monday Night Football clash with the 49ers.

Impact The sometimes-inaccurate Allen posted a sterling completion rate of 82 percent and averaged a healthy 10.9 yards per attempt. He managed three touchdown passes after going two games without one and added his fifth rushing score of the season to round out an excellent line. Allen seems to be back on track after struggling for a couple of games and will look to add to his numbers in what could be a high-scoring game against the Cardinals next Sunday.

Rushing TD covers for poor passing Allen completed 11 of 18 passes for 154 yards and an interception while rushing 10 times for 23 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Patriots.

Impact Allen was held without a passing touchdown for the second week in a row, but he scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the season from two yards out to put his team up 21-14 early in the fourth quarter. With wide receiver John Brown (knee) playing at less than 100 percent, Buffalo's passing game has taken a major step back after a hot start despite continued production from Stefon Diggs (six catches for 92 yards). Despite his recent struggles through the air, Allen's rushing production keeps him near the upper echelon of fantasy quarterback options, and he gets a great opportunity to find his mojo as a passer with the struggling Seahawks secondary coming to town in Week 9.

Piles up yardage but no TDs Allen completed 30 of 43 passes for 307 yards in Sunday's 18-10 win over the Jets. He added 11 carries for 61 yards and lost a fumble.

Impact Allen found sledding surprisingly tough against the winless Jets, failing to find the end zone after tossing multiple touchdowns in each of his first six games. He lost a costly fumble on 3rd-and-goal down 3-0 in the second quarter, but Allen had no problem moving the ball into field-goal range throughout the contest, as kicker Tyler Bass converted six field goals and missed another two. Allen also led the Bills in both carries and rushing yards, setting a new season high in the latter category. He'll hope to get injured No. 2 receiver John Brown (knee) back when the Patriots come to town in Week 8.

Falls for second straight week Allen completed 14 of 27 passes for 122 yards and two TD passes with one interception during Monday's loss to the Chiefs. He added eight rushes for 42 yards.

Impact The two TDs and the rushing yards made this a palatable performance from a fantasy perspective, but it was a rough outing for the second straight primetime week for Allen and the Bills, who fall to 4-2. The third-year quarterback has put up his two worst performances of the season in these two games after being a fantasy darling for Weeks 1-4. While Allen still has enough flaws in his game that there will be occasional tough sledding in matchups against championship-level teams like the Chiefs and Titans, he's also improved his game by miles since his rookie season and remains a top-10 fantasy QB. Things get much easier Week 7 with Allen and the Bills traveling to face the Jets.

Impact The fantasy stats aren't terrible, but this just wasn't the Bills' night in an ugly 42-16 loss -- the team's first of the season -- with Allen misfiring several times and getting a bad bounce on one of the two picks. His 77.6 rating is by far his worst of the season and he tripled his 2020 interception total on one night. On the bright side, Allen has thrown for two-plus touchdowns all five games this season and now has 14 TD passes on the campaign. He and the Bills will get a chance to bounce back in another primetime game Monday against the Chiefs.

Impact Things are not in the clear yet, however, as both teams still have to go through more testing with no setbacks. In a strange state of the times, if you've rolled the dice on Allen thus far you've essentially made a bold bet that the game would go on as planned -- or taking it even further, that the last few rounds of COVID-19 testing would come back clean, with your last bailout being a late pivot to Drew Brees or Justin Herbert. On the bright side, Tuesday's Bills-Titans now seems like a decent possibility at this stage given the most recent testing results.
