Paces backfield McKinnon carried the ball eight times for 53 yards in Monday's 30-29 win over the Raiders. He added two receptions on three targets for 19 yards.
Impact McKinnon was out-touched 12-10 by Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but McKinnon was the far more efficient runner of the duo. He paced the Chiefs with 53 rushing yards, powered primarily by a 30-yard gain midway through the second quarter. Notably, Edwards-Helaire seems to have maintained his role as Kansas City's goal-line back, though McKinnon remains a significant part of the equation in the team's backfield.

Role slips in victory Edwards-Helaire rushed the ball nine times for 15 yards in Monday's 30-29 win over the Raiders. He added three receptions on four targets for 20 yards.
Impact Edwards-Helaire narrowly out-carried Jerick McKinnon 9-8, but he failed to get anything going on the ground. As has been the case throughout the season, Edwards-Helaire was more impressive as a receiver, and he managed multiple receptions for the fourth time in five games. He appeared to have a seven-yard touchdown reception midway through the second quarter but was ruled down at the one-yard line upon further review, and he got knocked out of bounds at the one on a four-yard catch in the fourth quarter. While getting across the goal line either time would have improved his stat line, Edwards-Helaire's usage as a bell cow in Week 4 appears to have been an outlier, as he now has fewer than 10 carries in all but one game on the campaign.

Impact While overshadowed by Travis Kelce's four-touchdown performance, Valdes-Scantling delivered his best game as a Chief. Impact Kelce didn't do much damage from a yardage perspective, as his longest catch went for only eight yards and he averaged just 3.1 yards per target. However, he more than made up for that with his prolific work around the end zone, as he accounted for all four of the Chiefs' touchdowns -- each of which came from the eight-yard line or closer. Kelce now has at least one score and five receptions in four of the team's five games this season and is clearly operating as Patrick Mahomes' top pass catcher.
