Aides in victory
Butker missed one of two extra-point tries but made all three field goal attempts in a 22-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Impact
Butker just missed a PAT, a first for him since 2022, but was otherwise perfect in the Week 3 victory. He connected from 53, 44, and 21 yards out, bringing him to 7-for-7 on the season on FGAs. Next week, Butker and Chiefs will travel to Los Angeles for a divisional matchup with the Chargers.

Gets nine touches with Pacheco hurt
Perine rushed six times for 25 yards while catching three of four targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Falcons.
Impact
Perine played second fiddle to Carson Steele (17 carries for 72 yards) in Kansas City's first game without Isiah Pacheco (fibula), who is expected to be out for six-to-eight weeks. While Perine has carved out some utility in passing situations, he remains an afterthought in the game plan, and Kansas City's backfield could get more crowded in coming weeks with Kareem Hunt having joined the practice squad Tuesday and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) eligible to come off the reserve/non-football illness list Week 5. Perine will likely maintain his spot as a change-of-pace option against the Chargers in Week 4.

Racks up 17 carries in Week 3 win
Steele rushed 17 times for 72 yards while catching one of two targets for two yards in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Falcons.
Impact
In the first game since Isiah Pacheco (fibula) suffered an injury that's expected to keep him sidelined for six-to-eight weeks, Steele got 19 combined carries and targets compared to 10 for Samaje Perine, who finished with 40 scrimmage yards. Steele had two carries from inside the five-yard line on the first drive of the third quarter but failed to convert on either one as the Chiefs settled for a field goal to take a 16-14 lead. Kansas City could add reinforcements to the backfield, as Kareem Hunt's an option to be elevated from the practice squad as soon as Week 4 against the Chargers and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) is eligible to come off the reserve/non-football illness list the following week. As things stand, Steele appears in line to handle the bulk of the backfield work again in Week 4.

Another modest passing total
Mahomes completed 26 of 39 passes for 217 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Falcons. He added six rushing attempts for 17 yards.
Impact
Mahomes was picked off in the end zone by familiar nemesis Justin Simmons in the first quarter, marking Simmons' sixth interception against Mahomes. The star quarterback bounced back with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Rashee Rice on the next drive and added another 13-yard touchdown pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster in the third quarter. Mahomes posted another underwhelming stat line after throwing for a meager 151 yards in the previous game, but he has led the Chiefs to a 3-0 record despite his disappointing start from a statistical standpoint. He'll bring a 5:4 TD:INT into a Week 4 road game against a Chargers team that could be without starting quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle).

Paces KC's offense again
Rice caught 12 of 15 targets for 110 yards and a touchdown while adding a one-yard run in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Falcons.
Impact
Rice once again worked as the clear No. 1 target for Patrick Mahomes, accounting for more than half of Mahomes' 217 passing yards. After connecting for a 44-yard touchdown last week, Rice and Mahomes linked up for a 13-yard touchdown in the second quarter Sunday, and the wide receiver has posted a gaudy 298 receiving yards through three weeks. Rice was briefly shaken up after getting tackled in the third quarter but quickly returned, so he's unlikely to have any physical limitations when the Chiefs visit the AFC West rival Chargers in Week 4.

Still searching for breakout game
Kelce caught four of five targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Falcons.
Impact
Kelce's slow start continued in the first half, as he had just four yards on two targets. He made a nine-yard catch on the first play of the third quarter and added an 18-yard catch four plays later but then went quiet again. The star tight end has a meager 69 receiving yards and has yet to score a touchdown heading into a Week 4 road game against the Chargers.
