Returning to practice Wednesday Coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday that Allen (heel) will return to practice as a partial participant, Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Impact Allen's heel injury has prevented him from practicing or playing the last two weeks, but it sounds like he'll be back on the field and listed as 'limited' Wednesday. Eberflus said he's "hopeful" Allen will be able to suit up for Sunday's game against the Rams, per Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network, as well as remain available for the long term. Allen's heel issue may be something he has to manage over the course of the season, after the veteran wideout missed time due to it mid-August and also dealt with a heel injury down the stretch of the 2023 season with the Chargers. Elsewhere in the Bears' receiving corps, rookie first-rounder Rome Odunze broke out with six catches for 112 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets in Chicago's 21-16 loss to the Colts in Week 3.
