Viewed as offensive weapon Broncos GM George Paton said if Hamler can stay healthy, "he's going to be a big-time weapon for us," Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Impact Hamler is currently in a battle for the No. 3 wide receiver spot with fellow wideout Tim Patrick, so Paton's comments shed light on how the team views the 22-year-old entering his second year. The Penn State product saw limited work in 13 games last season, totaling 381 yards on 30 receptions while scoring three touchdowns. Hamler profiles as more of a deep threat for the Broncos offense on account of his speed, but Paton's remarks may hint that the wideout could be used in creative schemes. Regardless, consistent fantasy production may be difficult to sustain for the 5-foot-9, 178-pounder as a member of an impressive group of pass catchers that includes Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and Noah Fant. Even if Hamler is slotted as the No. 3 wide receiver, he will likely be no more than the fourth option in the Denver passing attack when everyone's healthy.
