Impact Pre-game reports suggested that Murray was trending toward a Week 4 start, and that notion appears to have been solidified by the fact that the Ravens made Ty'Son Williams (who's logged 27 carries for 164 in three games to date) a healthy scratch. Also, in Baltimore's backfield Sunday will be a pair of experienced options in Le'Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman, but of the team's veteran RB trio in uniform versus Denver, Murray looks like the higher-percentage fantasy option this week.

Likely to operate as lead back Murray is expected to serve as the Ravens' lead running back for the Ravens in Sunday's game in Denver, Mike Garofolo of NFL Network reports.

Impact Ty'Son Williams had operated as the No. 1 option out of the Baltimore backfield for the first three games, but he played no more than 51 percent of the offensive snaps in any of those contests while head coach John Harbaugh has opted for a committee approach to the position. Based on Garofolo's report, Williams looks like he'll be headed for a smaller share of the work Sunday, while Murray could see a more expanded profile after handling snap shares between 31 and 37 percent through the first three weeks while totaling 26 touches (8.6 per contest). Even if Murray gets an uptick in opportunities, he's still unlikely to truly dominate the backfield reps, especially with two former Pro Bowlers (Le'Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman) on hand in reserve and with Lamar Jackson always representing a threat to poach goal-line carries. The Ravens may end up keeping only three of Murray, Williams, Freeman and Bell active Week 4, but none of the quartet profiles as a bankable fantasy option.

Impact In the Week 1 loss to the Raiders, Williams started and was the most efficient back with nine carries for 65 yards and a touchdown, but he took a back seat in the second half to Murray, who finished his Ravens debut with 10 carries for 28 yards and a touchdown while playing 31 percent of the offensive snaps. The Baltimore backfield looks like it'll become more muddled in Week 2 with the addition of Freeman, who profiles as more of a threat to contend for reps on offense than the since-waived Trenton Cannon. With that in mind, Rapoport suggests that the Ravens may opt for a hot-hand approach to the backfield, making it difficult to handicap the potential workloads for any of the three backs ahead of time.

Impact Murray only signed with the Ravens a few days ago, but amid the team's backfield injury crisis, the veteran actually led Baltimore's tailbacks in carries. Admittedly, starter Ty'Son Williams was close behind with nine totes, from which he produced an impressive 65 yards and a touchdown. Williams also caught three of four targets for 29 yards, but in scoring a eight-yard touchdown himself, Murray at least contributed immediately in his debut. Going forward, it'll be interesting to see how the Ravens split opportunities between Williams, Murray, Trenton Cannon and current practice-squad members Le'Veon Bell and Devonta Freeman, but the big-bodied Murray showed the scoring punch he can offer now that Gus Edwards (knee) isn't around for short-yardage situations.
