Impact Edwards is scheduled to undergo further testing before the severity of his injury is known, but according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Baltimore fears its projected top back may have sustained a torn ACL. If the injury is confirmed, Edwards would become the third Baltimore running back to sustain a season-ending injury before Week 1, joining J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Justice Hill (Achilles). Even if Edwards' injury proves to be less significant, he looks doubtful to play Monday against Las Vegas, so Bell should be in line for a promotion to the active roster as the Ravens look to restore depth at the position. The two-time first-team All-Pro selection has seen his effectiveness wane since he sat out the 2018 season as a member of the Steelers, but Bell could nonetheless be in store for a meaningful role right out of the gate if Edwards misses time. At the moment, the only healthy backs on the roster are 2020 undrafted free agent Ty'Son Williams, who has yet to log a regular-season snap, and Trent Cannon, who best profiles as a No. 3 back/special-teams contributor.
