Joshua Kelley - Odd man out in Week 1 Kelley (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch for Week 1 against Washington, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.

Impact Kelley was in line to potentially garner active status for the opener, but he'll be in street clothes with Austin Ekeler (hamstring) available. Kelley made 14 appearances for Los Angeles last season but will have to wait to make his 2021 debut, and his next chance to do so will come in Week 2 at home against the Cowboys.

Austin Ekeler - Active for season opener Ekeler (hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against Washington.

Impact After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, Ekeler looked good upon his return to the field Friday and he'll give it a go Sunday, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network indicating that the running back should be full-go versus Washington. In the process, Ekeler is in line to head to the Chargers' ground game in Week 1, with Justin Jackson and Larry Rountree on hand to work in complementary/change-of-pace roles.
