Injury appears to be minor The Giants believe Nabers, who exited practice early Sunday, is dealing with a minor ankle sprain, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Nabers took off his left shoe and limped to the sideline late in Sunday's practice, but Ranaan reports that the Giants "don't appear overly concerned" about the issue at this point. If the initial belief that the rookie wideout is suffering from a minor sprain proves to be true, he could be held out for Saturday's preseason matchup against Houston, but the injury probably wouldn't prevent Nabers from suiting up for Week 1 of the regular season. Of course, the organization isn't likely to take any chances with Nabers' health after selecting him sixth overall in April's draft to be the team's new No. 1 wideout.

Limps off field during practice Nabers exited Sunday's practice early and was seen limping at the end of the the Giants' team drills, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Impact It's not yet clear what caused the issue, but Nabers took off his left shoe and limped off the field before practice had ended, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. Duggan notes that the rookie wideout didn't go to the locker room but was using a band to stretch his left ankle/foot while sitting on the sideline, and he was limping at the end of the practice session. Nabers is primed to be an integral part of New York's offense after the team drafted him sixth overall in the 2024 Draft, so it's likely that the organization won't take any chances with rushing him back during preseason if Nabers is in fact dealing with an injury. Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record notes that Nabers' exit happened late in practice, which makes it less clear if the receiver is dealing with a significant issue since there wasn't much time for him to return to the team's session.

No targets in preseason debut Nabers wasn't targeted in Thursday's 14-3 preseason win over the Lions.

Impact Nabers played the first three drives of the Giants' preseason opener but didn't get any attention from Drew Lock, and the quarterback subsequently exited the game due to a hip injury. Per Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Nabers ran eight routes on his 12 snaps. The sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft may ramp up his participation in the next preseason game against the Texans, but it will be hard to evaluate Nabers until he shares the field with starting quarterback Daniel Jones, who may not play in the preseason as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered last November.

Slated to play Thursday Nabers is in line to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Lions, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Impact ESPN reported early Thursday that Nabers would be among a number of Giants starters to not suit up for the team's exhibition opener, but the rookie first-round pick indeed will be available for up to the entire first quarter. Nabers has been ripping it up since arriving in New York as the sixth overall pick back in April, and Thursday will mark his first game action in the NFL.
