Let go by Seattle The Seahawks waived Simms (undisclosed) from injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Impact Simms attempted to make the Seahawks' 53-man roster during training camp after an impressive season in the UFL this past spring with the Michican Panthers. However, he was reverted to Seattle's injured reserve in early August due to an unspecified injury. Now that's he's been let go, Simms will have a chance to sign with another team once he is fully healthy.

Impact Simms caught on with the Seahawks in July after playing in the UFL with the Michigan Panthers. The 26-year-old wide receiver was let go by Seattle on Wednesday with an unspecified injury designation, and since he was unclaimed off waivers, he will now be forced to miss the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached.

Impact Simms is dealing with an undisclosed issue, and will revert to IR if he clears waivers. In that event, he will be slated to miss the entire 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached. Since going undrafted out of West Virginia back in 2019, Simms has failed to yet make his NFL debut, but he did log an impressive stint in the UFL.

Set to sign with Seattle The Seahawks are expected to sign Simms to a contract Tuesday pending a physical examination, per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

Impact Simms failed to catch on in the NFL after being waived from the Jaguars' injured reserve with a concussion in November of his rookie season. The 2019 undrafted free agent has not signed with an NFL team since being released by Jacksonville. But, he turned heads in the UFL this spring, logging 23 catches for 426 yards and three touchdowns with the Michigan Panthers. Simms also tallied over 1,000 yards as returner on special teams during his collegiate career at West Virginia. He'll likely need to leverage his skills as a returner in order to carve out a role with Seattle this offseason.
