Won't require surgery Coach Andy Reid said Monday that Brown (shoulder) is back in Kansas City and won't require surgery after having injured his left shoulder Saturday, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City... Impact Brown suffered a sternoclavicular joint injury during Saturday's preseason game versus the Jaguars, which Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports was able to be reduced by doctors in Jacksonville. Coach Andy Reid said that back in the 2019 season, former Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill dealt with a similar injury, which required him to miss Weeks 2 through 5. Reid only said "we'll see" with regards to Brown's status for Week 1, per Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com, but it looks like the 27-year-old's recovery timetable could jeopardize his availability for the start of the regular season. As long as Brown remains sidelined, added first-team reps figure to be available for Justin Watson, Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney (back) behind Rashee Rice, who remains at risk of a suspension, and rookie first-round pick Xavier Worthy.
