Splits backfield work again Gordon ran for 50 yards on 10 carries against Las Vegas on Sunday, adding three receptions for 23 yards on three targets. Impact Like nearly every game this year, Gordon split the Denver backfield functions almost 50-50 with rookie second-round pick Javonte Williams, who produced 53 yards on 11 carries and three receptions for 15 yards on three targets. Each big play by either back seems promptly answered with a matching effort by the other, and that's been great for the Denver offense. It's frustrating for fantasy investors, of course, and as long as both players hold serve it will be difficult for the other to get ahead. It's a formula that generally leaves Gordon touchdown-dependent for fantasy viability, and there were no such opportunities Sunday with the Broncos trailing Las Vegas all game. Perhaps Gordon can find the end zone again in Week 7, but playing on the road against Cleveland could be a challenging venue.
