Impact Tagovailoa was diagnosed with his fourth documented concussion in five years back on Sept. 12, when he collided with the Bills' Damar Hamlin while rushing for a first down. Despite Tagovailoa's troubling history with concussions, he thus far seems to be making good progress in his recovery. After being placed on injured reserve following the Week 2 loss to Buffalo, Tagovailoa won't be eligible to return to the Dolphins' active roster until the team's Week 8 matchup with the Cardinals. Tagovailoa seems like he could be a realistic option to return to option for that game, provided he doesn't take a turn for the worse in his recovery along with the Dolphins being comfortable having him play again.

Cam Smith - Practice window opened The Dolphins designated Smith (hamstring) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Impact Smith suffered a hamstring injury in July but managed to fully participate in practice Wednesday. Miami will now have 21 days to officially activate the 23-year-old, and he could then contribute on both defense and special teams.

Impact Mostert was also limited last week, but ended up inactive for Monday night's game against the Titans. The running back has two more chances to increase his participation level in advance of Week 5 action, which also applies to fellow RB Jeff Wilson (knee), but if Mostert remains sidelined this weekend against the Patriots, De'Von Achane would continue to lead Miami's backfield, with Jaylen Wright and Wilson (if available) also in the mix.

Impact The rookie wideout played through his quadriceps issue in Week 4's loss to the Titans, hauling in his only target for eight yards across 14 offensive snaps. Washington is projected to continue playing through this quadriceps injury in Week 5 unless his practice participation downgrades either Thursday or Friday.

Jaelan Phillips - Out for the year Phillips announced Wednesday that he will miss the remainder of the 2024 season due to a knee injury, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Phillips failed to mention the exact injury to his knee, but the 2021 first-round pick did state that he'll need reconstructive surgery. The Miami product returned to the field this season after sustaining a season-ending Achilles injury eight games into the Dolphins' 2023 campaign. He's appeared in 12 games over the past two years, recording 49 total tackles, including 7.5 sacks, and defended four passes. Expect Emmanuel Ogbah to see more work with Miami's first-team defense now that Phillips has announced he's out for the year.

Impact Miami's first practice report of the week confirms that Beckham -- who is on the PUP list -- has been sidelined due to a problem with his knee (specifics hadn't previously been reported) and suggests he could be back in action as soon as this Sunday at New England. He won't have much fantasy value while catching passes from backup QBs and competing with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle for snaps/targets, but Beckham could have a bigger role down the line if Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) eventually returns and either Hill or Waddle misses time.

Once fully healthy, Beckham will have an opportunity to claim the No. 3 wide receiver role right off the bat behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Across 14 regular-season games for the Ravens last season, Beckham posted 35 catches (on 64 targets) for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
