Tua Tagovailoa - Move to IR official The Dolphins placed Tagovailoa (concussion) on injured reserve Tuesday. Impact As a result of the transaction, Tagovailoa will miss at least the next four games, and with the Dolphins on bye Week 6, the quarterback won't be eligible for activation until after Week 7. Tagovailoa remains without an official timeline to rejoin the Dolphins, as he'll meet with outside neurologists this week to receive more feedback regarding the severity of his latest brain injury, which he suffered in last week's loss to the Bills. Tagovailoa has now suffered four documented concussions in the past five years, and though the quarterback reportedly has no plans to retire from football, he'll need to clear all five steps of the NFL's concussion protocol before a potential return date is established. The Dolphins signed Tyler Huntley off the Ravens' practice squad to replace Tagovailoa on the 53-man roster, but Skylar Thompson will get the first chance to step in as Miami's new starting quarterback Sunday in Seattle.
