Malcolm Brown - Could make Week 15 return The Dolphins anticipate Brown (quadriceps) will resume practicing this week, and he could be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets, Barry Jackson o... Impact Before suffering the quad injury Week 7 and landing on IR, Brown had been a secondary member of a Miami backfield committee headlined by Myles Gaskin. In seven appearances, Brown averaged 5.1 touches and 19.3 yards per game, but he could be headed for his largest workload of the season if he's activated from IR for Week 15. At the moment, Duke Johnson is the only healthy back on the 53-man roster, as the three players ahead of him on the depth chart -- Gaskin, Phillip Lindsay and Salvon Ahmed -- have all tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days. Since all three players are vaccinated, they'll have a shot at suiting up Sunday if they can clear the necessary protocols in expedient fashion, but Brown could still have a role on offense if he's able to show the quad injury isn't bothering him in practice. Miami will likely officially designate Brown for return from IR later this week.
