Impact Gesicki had a rough go of things in a smaller role following star wideout Tee Higgins' (quadriceps) return Sunday. The veteran tight end has truly been a boom-or-bust option in fantasy this season, producing four games with less than one standard fantasy point while posting big numbers in others. Gesicki enters a bye week with a line of 34-383-2 in 12 starts with Cincinnati. The Bengals resume play against the Steelers on Dec. 1.

Impact Gesicki was third on the team in targets with a figure that also tied his season high, but unlike other games when Tee Higgins (quadricep) has been sidelined, Gesicki couldn't do much with the opportunity. The veteran tight end's yardage total was his fifth of 30 yards or less this season, and assuming Higgins is back to full health for a Week 11 road matchup against the Chargers on Sunday night, Nov. 17, Gesicki could be revert to a much smaller role.

Impact Gesicki was the surprise leader in receiving yards on the afternoon for the Bengals, but he'd never gotten close had it not been for the 58 yards he gained on his two second-half touchdown grabs, the latter an impressive 47-yard catch and run with 5:37 remaining to put the game definitively out of reach. Gesicki has consistently delivered strong performances whenever Tee Higgins (quadricep) has been sidelined, and he may have another opportunity to take the field without his teammate due to the short turnaround before a Week 10 road matchup against the Ravens on Thursday night.

Impact Gesicki played just 19 of the Bengals' 53 offensive snaps against the Giants, his second-lowest snap total of the season. Meanwhile, Drew Sample (26) and Erick All (23) were on the field more than the 29-year-old Gesicki. Sunday marked the first contest in which Gesicki was held without a catch, coinciding with All's ascension to the top spot on the depth chart as Cincinnati's preferred pass-catching option. Gesicki should be left off the fantasy radar heading into a Week 7 matchup against the Browns.

Impact Gesicki was held out of Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring issue before returning as a limited participant one day later. With his status cleared up for Week 6 action, he'll continue to serve as one of the tight ends available to QB Joe Burrow, which so far has amounted to a 17-178-0 line on 21 targets through five games.

Impact Gesicki didn't practice Wednesday, so the tight end's return to the field a day later -- albeit in a limited fashion -- has him trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants. However, Gesicki will presumably need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.

After logging 18 targets in his first three games this season, the veteran TE has seen just three over his last two outings, with the presence of rookie Erick All (14 catches -- on 14 targets -- for 92 yards in his last four contests) having started to hamper Gesicki's fantasy upside.

Impact Gesicki had his worst statistical game of the young season Sunday, tallying season lows in targets, catches and yards. In addition, the 28-year-old tight end saw his lowest offensive snap share in Week 4, playing 32 percent of snaps while rookie Erick All played 60 percent of snaps. Though one game should not lead to panic, the emergence of All could result in a reduced number of opportunities for Gesicki. Nonetheless, the veteran will look to bounce back in a Week 5 matchup against the Ravens.

Impact Gesicki continued to be involved Monday, seeing a solid five targets in the contest. The veteran tight end has now seen at least four targets in each of the first three games. Gesicki also led all tight ends in playing time, playing 31 of the team's offensive snaps ahead of Drew Sample (25) and Erick All (21). The 28-year-old should continue to be involved in Week 4 when the Bengals visit the Panthers.
