Minor impact again Boykin caught one of two targets for 11 yards Sunday against the Eagles.

Impact It was another nondescript outing from Boykin, who has yet to go over 40 yards or four catches in any game this season. His playing time the past three weeks has dipped down below a 60 percent snap share in each of those games, and Sunday's percentage was just 45. Meanwhile, rookie Devin Duvernay slowly but surely is playing more snaps each week. The Ravens said in the lead-up to Sunday's game that they were looking to get Boykin more involved, but that certainly wasn't the case. He'll be on a bye before returning to action Week 8 against the Steelers.

Impact Boykin was added to the Ravens' injury report after a thigh issue limited his activity in the team's final practice of the week Friday, but he moved around well enough in pregame warmups to gain clearance. After playing more than two-thirds of the Ravens' offensive snaps in each of the first three games of the season, Boykin lost work to rookie Devin Duvernay in both of the past two contests. Boykin played 54 percent of the snaps Week 4 and 57 percent of the snaps Week 5, logging two of six receptions for 28 yards between those games.

Impact Boykin was a new addition to Friday's injury report, as Zrebiec notes, a hint that he could have picked up his thigh issue during practice. The second-year pro was held without a catch on two targets Week 5, and he has yet to surpass 40 receiving yards in a game this season. If Boykin were forced to miss any time, it could provide rookies Devin Duvernay and James Proche additional opportunities to work their way into Baltimore's offense.

Impact Boykin continues to struggle to find his footing in the passing game. He hasn't seen more than five targets in any game this season and he has just three catches for 36 yards over his last three games. Coach John Harbaugh said during Monday's press conference that the team wants to get Boykin "more involved" according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. Even if this is true, Boykin won't see more targets than Marquise Brown or Mark Andrews. Boykin will have a chance to be more involved Sunday against the Eagles.

Impact Boykin played a season-low 54 percent of the snaps -- 31 total -- and he would have only had one catch for 13 yards on three targets if not for a 15-yard gain on a fake punt pass from Sam Koch. Earlier in the season, Boykin was at least playing the majority of the snaps on offense. Sunday may be the start of a bad trend for Boykin if his snaps and targets don't tick back up against the Bengals in Week 5, particularly now that rookies like Devin Duvernay and James Proche seem to be working their way into roles.

Impact Boykin didn't have a prolific night on the stat sheet, but neither did any other member of the Ravens' receiving corps. Marquise Brown led Baltimore wide receivers with 13 yards, while the collective group of Boykin, Brown, Devin Duvernay and Willie Snead only combined for a measly 32 receiving yards. The matchup isn't ideal in Week 4 for Boykin and the Ravens' passing attack, as they face a Washington team that ranks among the league's toughest defenses in terms of both catches (36) and touchdowns (one) allowed to opposing wideouts.

He's averaging just 28.0 air yards per game through two weeks, and his average depth of target checks in at 6.2 yards, which is just the seventh percentile among all NFL receivers. That said, Boykin has used his standout athleticism to average 5.3 yards after the catch. Boykin is playing well enough to keep his high snap count but Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews remain the top two targets in this offense.

Impact Finding a reliable option opposite Marquise Brown has been a major storyline for the Ravens offense all offseason. Veteran Dez Bryant worked out for the team last week but left without a contract, and it's possible that Boykin's improved play was a factor. Boykin had an underwhelming rookie season, drawing just 22 targets and playing fewer snaps than Seth Roberts. He was productive when targeted, catching three touchdowns and averaging 9.0 YPT, but the lack of targets per snap suggests that he has some work to do in terms of presenting a viable look to quarterback Lamar Jackson. Boykin is extremely athletic, and if his maturation as a receiver starts to match up with his raw gifts, he can be an impact player in Baltimore's low-volume, high-efficiency passing attack.
