Impact Osborn joined the Vikings' top two wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen on the sideline. While Jefferson and Thielen also didn't suit up in preseason Week 1 at Las Vegas, Osborn did play, logging eight offensive snaps and catching his only target for 10 yards. The third-year pro has settled into the third receiver role in Minnesota's offense, which may yield more fruit this year under new coach Kevin O'Connell.

Impact For a second straight exhibition, Thielen remained on the sideline along with fellow wide receiver Justin Jefferson, running back Dalvin Cook and quarterback Kirk Cousins. Thielen understandably has yielded the No. 1 wide receiver gig in Minnesota to Jefferson the last two seasons, but the former remained productive himself, totaling 1,651 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns in 28 games during that span.

Impact Jefferson is among a number of Vikings starting skill-position players that have yet to suit up during exhibition season (along with quarterback Kirk Cousins, running back Dalvin Cook and fellow wide receiver Adam Thielen). While Jefferson doesn't necessarily need the reps to be ready for the regular season after racking up 3,016 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns in his first two pro campaigns, he will have one more chance to make an appearance before Week 1 next Saturday at Denver.

Impact Coach Kevin O'Connell commented on Smith's recovery from thumb surgery after Saturday's preseason loss to the 49ers, saying the tight end "will be back on the grass" in the near future. Andrew Booth Jr. - Suffers ankle injury Booth exited Saturday's preseason game against the 49ers with an ankle injury, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact Booth stayed down on the field for a few minutes after suffering the injury. He was later seen limping on the sideline after being assessed in the medical tent. It's unclear how severe the issue may be, but Booth has suffered numerous lower-body injuries before reaching the NFL, including a torn PCL, quad strains and hernia issues that required surgery to repair.
