Ty Chandler - Set up for increased role Chandler is expected to take over as Alexander Mattison's top backup after Cam Akers sustained a ruptured Achilles during Sunday's game at Atlanta, Kevin Seifert of ESPN reports.
Impact With Akers now set to miss the remainder of the season, Chandler finds himself positioned as Minnesota's number two running back going into Week 10. He's gotten just 13 touches through nine games so far this season, returning 85 yards from scrimmage on those opportunities.

T.J. Hockenson - Hopeful to play against New Orleans Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that he hopes Hockenson (ribs) will be able to play Sunday against the Saints, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact Hockenson was the Vikings' leading receiver during Sunday's Week 9 win over the Falcons, but O'Connell revealed after the game that the tight end is limited by a rib issue. Hockenson is expected to be limited to begin the week, but the team hopes that he won't be forced to miss any game action. A better idea of his status should come into focus based on his participation in practice this week.

Alexander Mattison - Produces as pass catcher Mattison rushed the ball 16 times for 44 yards in Sunday's 31-28 win over Atlanta. He added two catches on two targets for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Impact Mattison led the backfield with 18 touches as compared to 10 for Cam Akers (Achilles). He wasn't particularly effective on the ground -- he averaged only 2.8 yards per carry with a long of eight -- but he accounted for Minnesota's longest play from scrimmage on a 47-yard reception. Mattison also found the end zone on a two-yard touchdown catch just before halftime. With Akers feared to have suffered an Achilles injury, Mattison could retake a more substantial portion of the workload out of Minnesota's backfield moving forward.
