Impact Garafolo reported Wednesday that the Bears expect Trubisky to miss at least a few weeks with the injury, which could be similar to the issue that resulted in him missing two games during the 2018 season. On that occasion, Trubisky was able to avoid procedures on his labrum and rotator cuff, but surgery apparently hasn't been ruled out this time around, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Trubisky will likely await feedback from Dr. ElAttrache before determining whether surgery is his best option, or if he can treat the injury through rest and rehab.

Likely to miss time Trubisky is slated to miss "at least a few weeks" due to the shoulder injury he sustained this past Sunday against the Saints, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Impact On his only offensive snap after getting demoted from the starting job following Week 3, Trubisky injured his right throwing shoulder on a three-yard carry. With the expectation Trubisky will be sidelined for a spell, the Bears likely will call up Tyler Bray from the practice squad to serve as the backup to Nick Foles. After Sunday's game, the Bears will host the Vikings on Nov. 16 in Week 10 before heading into a bye, so the team may be targeting its Week 12 game in Green Bay for Trubisky's return.

Impact Trubisky was benched during Sunday's game against the Falcons after an erratic first half, in which he completed 13 of 21 passes for 128 yards and a score (while also adding one rush for 45 yards). Nick Foles was efficient upon taking the field, and he led the Bears to a comeback win while tossing three touchdowns and a single interception, so it doesn't come as much of a shock to see Trubisky officially lose his job. It remains to be seen whether the 2017 No. 2 overall pick, who is scheduled to become a free agent in 2021, will get another chance to prove himself under center in Chicago.
