Reverts to injured reserve Thompson (knee) reverted to the Vikings' reserve/injured list Thursday after going unclaimed off waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Impact Thompson has spent all of training camp on the active/PUP list due to a knee injury he sustained in early January. Now that he's on IR, Thompson will be forced to sit out for the whole 2024 season unless an injury settlement is reached with Minnesota.

Impact The second-year cornerback out of Georgia Southern has dealt with a knee issue since January, and it now appears Minnesota has decided to part ways with him. If Thompson clears waivers, he'll revert to the Vikings' injured reserve list and miss all of 2024 unless the two parties reach an injury settlement at some point this season.

Impact Thompson has been dealing with a knee issue since the beginning of January and it's now caused him to land on Minnesota's PUP list. The second-year cornerback is still eligible to practice and play in the preseason at any point, but his placement on the PUP indicates he's not fully past his knee injury just yet. Expect Thompson to compete for a special teams role as the offseason progresses.
