Patriots rookie QB Drake Maye left Sunday’s game in the first quarter after a hit to the head at the end of an 18-yard scramble.

Drake Maye - Done for day with concussion Maye was diagnosed with a concussion after exiting in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Jets and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
Impact Maye appeared to suffer the head injury when he took a helmet-to-helmet hit during a scramble on the Patriots' third possession. Though he stayed in the game for the remainder of the drive, he gave way to backup Jacoby Brissett on the Patriots' next possession while he headed to the locker room for a concussion test. Brissett will now direct the New England offense for the rest of the day, while Joe Milton -- who is inactive as the emergency third quarterback -- will be the next man up for reps if Brissett is forced to leave the game early. Maye completed three of six pass attempts for 23 yards and carried three times for 46 yards and a touchdown prior to his departure.

Impact Per Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald, Maye took a hit to the back of his helmet during a scramble, and now the QB is questionable to return to action Sunday. In his absence, Jacoby Brissett has entered the game.

Impact An illness landed Schooler on the injury report with a questionable tag Saturday, but he's been able to recover well enough to take the field one day later. Schooler typically plays almost exclusively on special teams, but there's a chance he could see some work on defense Sunday with felow safety Kyle Dugger (ankle) sitting out.

Joshua Uche - Inactive amidst trade talks Uche (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Impact Uche does not have an injury, but he will be held out of Sunday's game amidst trade speculation ahead of the Nov. 5 deadline, per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports. The 2020 second-round pick has seen his snap count decrease over the last couple of weeks, and through seven regular-season outings he's posted 13 tackles (10 solo), including 2.0 sacks. With Uche inactive for Sunday's contest, Ochaun Mathis and Raekwon McMillan are the top candidates to start at outside linebacker alongside Anfernee Jennings.

Vederian Lowe - Will return to action Week 8 Lowe (ankle) is not among New England's inactives for Sunday's matchup against the Jets.
Impact Lowe hurt his ankle Week 6 against Houston and was unable to play last Sunday versus Jacksonville. However, he was able to finish this week with a pair of limited practices, allowing him to return to action Sunday. Lowe should reprise his starting role at left tackle upon his return.

Daniel Ekuale - Won't play vs. Jets Ekuale (abdomen) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Impact Ekuale popped up on Thursday's injury report as a limited practice participant due to an abdomen injury. He downgraded to a DNP on Friday, and the 30-year-old will miss his first game of the 2024 regular season. Deatrich Wise is the top candidate to get the start at defensive end Sunday alongside Keion White, and Eric Johnson should see increased snaps on defense while serving in a rotational depth role.

Impact Takitaki has missed six of the Patriots' seven regular-season games due to a knee injury, but he'll return to action for Sunday's AFC East clash. Takitaki will provide rotational depth at inside linebacker behind starters Christian Elliss and Jahlani Tavai.

Impact Dugger was a late addition to New England's injury report, as he practiced in full both Thursday and Friday before getting added to the report with a tag of questionable Saturday. The severity of his ankle issue isn't clear, but the injury is going to sideline him for at least Sunday's AFC East clash. Dugger's absence will be a significant blow to the Patriots' secondary, as the safety logged 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps in five of the team's seven contests coming into Week 8. When Dugger was sidelined Week 5 against Miami, Jaylinn Hawkins stepped into a starting role, and that will likely be the case again Sunday.

Impact Lowe suffered an ankle injury during the Patriots' Week 6 loss to the Texans, which kept him off the field for Week 7 against the Jaguars in London. The 2022 sixth-round pick opened the week as a DNP on Wednesday, but he followed that up with consecutive limited practices and has given himself a chance at returning from a one-game absence. If Lowe is unable to play Sunday, Demontrey Jacobs would be in line to make his second-straight start at left tackle and be tasked with protecting Drake Maye's blindside.
