Alvin Kamara - Extending stay in Big Easy Kamara and the Saints agreed on two-year, $24.5 million extension Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Impact Days after Kamara went to X and shut down rumors he requested a trade, he doubled down on those sentiments via an extension. The dynamic back is now under contract with the Saints through 2026. The 2017 third-round pick recorded a career-low 694 rushing yards in 2023, but he has bounced back nicely through seven games this year. Kamara has already tallied 438 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, as well as 34 receptions on 43 targets for 252 yards and one touchdown.

Paulson Adebo - Officially moved to IR The Saints placed Adebo (upper leg) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Impact Adebo suffered a broken femur during the Saints' Week 7 loss to the Broncos on Thursday. The Saints will see how Carr responds to throwing on consecutive days before potentially clearing him for some practice this week. If Carr doesn't make enough progress in his recovery from the injury to play Sunday, Allen said that he plans to have rookie Spencer Rattler make a third straight start.

Impact In the wake of losing Rashid Shaheed for the season due to a torn meniscus last week, the Saints were in the market for help at wide receiver, both in the short and long term. Currently, top option Chris Olave remains in the concussion protocol, so Mason Tipton, Bub Means and Cedrick Wilson are the others aside from Valdes-Scantling at the position on the active roster. Prior to getting cut by the Bills last Tuesday, Valdes-Scantling had hauled in two of nine targets for 26 yards in six appearances this season.

Impact Olave was unable to suit up last Thursday versus Denver, and he'll still need to gain full clearance -- including from an independent neurologist -- in order to be eligible to play Sunday versus the Chargers. With Rashid Shaheed (knee) having undergone season-ending knee surgery and the availability of quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) still uncertain for Week 8, it would provide a key boost for New Orleans' offense if Olave managed to gain clearance in time to play in Los Angeles. Mason Tipton, Cedrick Wilson and Bub Means will otherwise be in line to lead the Saints' wide receiver room.

Impact Moreau logged exactly two catches on exactly two targets for the third week in a row. He continued to play almost as many offensive snaps (42) as fellow tight end Juwan Johnson (51). However, the latter totaled four more targets than Moreau. The Saints have started to utilize both tight ends more over the last three games, but the absences of starting quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) and do-it-all tight end Taysom Hill (ribs) have severely impacted the team's overall offensive production. With Carr likely to remain out this coming week versus the Chargers, it's probably not worth picking up either Johnson or Moreau on the waiver wire in season-long fantasy formats.

Jamaal Williams - Serves as RB3 in loss Williams logged three carries for 17 yards during Thursday's 33-10 defeat to the Broncos.
Impact Williams appeared to fall back in the running back depth chart after four consecutive games with fewer than 12 rushing yards. The 29-year-old was already a nonfactor behind bell-cow starter Alvin Kamara, but he was overshadowed Thursday by second-year running back Kendre Miller, who logged six carries after missing the first six games with a hamstring injury. Williams and Miller both saw just one rushing attempt in the first half, so it's hard to say that either made much of an impact. It's probably too early to saw that Miller has secured the No. 2 running spot given his injury history, but Thursday's workload certainly indicates that a change could happen soon. It will be worth monitoring if Williams or Miller sees more action behind Kamara during next week's game versus the Chargers on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Cedrick Wilson Jr. - Catches late TD versus Denver Wilson hauled in six of seven targets for 57 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 33-10 loss against the Broncos.
Impact Wilson served as the No. 3 wide receiver with top wideouts Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) both out. With just under 1..5 minutes, the 28-year-old caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from No. 3 quarterback Jake Haener, who took the reins from rookie starter Spencer Rattler late in this blowout loss. Wilson finished with a team-high in receiving yards, but he played fewer offensive snaps (69) than rookie wideouts Bub Means (89) and Mason Tipton (83). Given that most of Wilson's production came late in the game, he should be considered a less valuable fantasy option than either Means or Tipton, and his value should only decrease further once Olave returns. The Saints will have some extra time to rest before facing the Chargers on Sunday, Oct. 27.

Impact The Saints' offense struggled with starting quarterback Derek Carr sidelined for the second week in a row. New Orleans scored 27 points during the second quarter of last week's loss to Tampa Bay, but its scored just 10 points in seven other quarters over the last two games. Nevertheless, Grupe has converted all 11 of his field-goal tries through seven contests this season, and his only misses have come on two of 20 PATs.
