Spends almost all of 2024 on IR Olszewski didn't see any NFL action in 2024, as he injured his groin during warmups in Week 1 and spent the remainder of the campaign on injured reserve.
Impact Olszewski first hurt his groin during a training-camp practice in mid-August but appeared to have recovered enough to play in Week 1. However, he aggravated the issue ahead of the season-opener versus Minnesota and was never designated to return. Olszewski has only 15 career regular-season catches over 65 contests, but he's had ample NFL success as a returner. He's slated to be an unrestricted free agent and could draw interest from clubs looking to upgrade their special-teams unit.

Thrives as NY's top returner Smith-Marsette didn't record any targets or touches on offense in 2024, but he logged 381 yards and one touchdown on 11 kick returns along with 228 yards on 29 punt returns.
Impact The highlight of Smith-Marsette's season was a 100-yard kick return for a touchdown in Week 17 against Indianapolis. That was his second career TD as a returner -- the first came on a punt return for the Panthers in 2023. On offense, Smith-Marsette logged only six offensive snaps, and his path forward on an NFL roster may be tied to his skill set on special teams. He'll be an unrestricted free agent upon the start of the offseason.

Regresses in second NFL campaign Hyatt caught eight of 19 targets for 62 yards over 16 regular-season games in 2024.
Impact Though he struggled to produce as a rookie in 2023, Hyatt at least showed some flashes of potential. That wasn't really the case in 2024, as more than half of his season yardage total came in a Week 10 game against Carolina in which he posted a modest 39 receiving yards, and he didn't reach double-digit yards in any of his other 15 appearances. While the Giants didn't have a prolific passing game, it's illogical to attribute Hyatt's lack of growth entirely to the team's QB situation, as rookie sensation Malik Nabers managed 109 catches for 1,204 yards in the same offense. New York will likely have a new starting signal-caller in 2025, and veteran wideout Darius Slayton may not be back, which could improve Hyatt's outlook to some extent. However, Nabers will likely command a huge target share again in his sophomore campaign while Wan'Dale Robinson is set to return as the team's No. 2 receiver, which would leave Hyatt -- who will be in the third year of his rookie contract -- battling for looks as the third or fourth option in the WR pecking order.

Impact Gray played in all 17 games and logged 41 more defensive snaps in 2024 compared to his rookie 2023 campaign, but he got three fewer carries and tallied 17 fewer rushing yards. His 2.2 YPC gave New York little reason to use him as a ball carrier, though Gray did improve mildly on his numbers as a pass catcher. The Oklahoma product's biggest role was as a kick returner, but his ball-security issues led the Giants to turn to Ihmir Smith-Marsette as their lead kick returner late in the campaign. Gray will be in the third year of his rookie contract in 2025, and given his lack of production thus far along with Tyrone Tracy's emergence as the team's lead back, there does seem to be much room for Gray to ascend on New York's depth chart.

Impact All three of Boyle's appearances came as a backup -- he replaced Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley in separate games while with Miami, then stepped in for Tommy DeVito in Week 15 as a member of the Giants. That's reflective of his role throughout his career, as Boyle has started just five times in 23 NFL regular-season games. Boyle will be an unrestricted free agent when the campaign comes to a close, and he's likely to work as either a backup or a practice-squad member in an NFL organization next season.

Impact DeVito made a very brief appearance Week 14 against New Orleans, taking one offensive snap without attempting a pass. His other two games were starts, and though he was relatively accurate with a 70 percent completion rate and didn't get picked off, he was quite conservative in averaging just 5.8 yards per attempt. DeVito's campaign was much less boisterous than the year prior, when he enjoyed a brief Cinderella run as a rookie in a fill-in role for Daniel Jones. DeVito will be an exclusive right free agent upon the beginning of the offseason, and the Giants are expected to bring him back, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. It's unclear where he'll stand in the QB pecking order, however, with both Drew Lock and Tim Boyle set to become unrestricted free agents and New York widely expected to upgrade at the position through trade, free agency, and/or the draft.

Plays in 10 games in 2024 Gano finished the regular season having gone 9-for-11 on field-goal attempts and 15-for-15 on extra-point tries over 10 contests.
Impact For the second consecutive season, Gano missed a significant chunk of time, in this case due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 9. When he was healthy enough to play, the veteran placekicker was pretty accurate -- of his two field-goal misses, one was was blocked, and he converted both of his attempts from 50-plus yards -- though New York's tepid offense limited his opportunities. Gano should resume kicking duties for the Giants next season, when he'll be in the second year of the three-year contract extension he signed last September.

Posts best season to date Davidson (shoulder) ended the 2024 campaign with 23 tackles (12 solo), including 2.0 sacks, along with two recovered fumbles.
Impact Davidson played just 14 more defensive snaps than in 2023, but he ended up with almost twice as many stops. Both of his sacks on the season came in a Week 5 win over Seattle. Davidson ended the campaign on IR due to a shoulder injury, but he should be ready for training camp ahead of the 2025 season. He'll likely provide defensive-line depth for New York again next year in what will be the final season of his rookie contract.

Reverts to rotational role in 2024 Jackson played in 14 games (five starts) during the regular season, tallying 28 tackles (18 solo), five defensed passes and one forced fumble.
Impact After spending the first three years of his Giants tenure as a starter, Jackson didn't get his first start of 2024 until Week 12. Overall, his 28 stops marked his lowest total in a season with the exception of 2020, when he was limited to just three games due to injury. Jackson signed a one-year contract with New York last August, and with the Giants opting to go mostly with younger cornerbacks last season, it seems likely that the veteran will depart for another organization in free agency.
