Zach Wilson - Reclaiming starting role Week 12 Wilson (knee) has been fully cleared by the Jets' medical staff and is set to return to action as the team's starting quarterback Sunday against the Texans, Andy Vasquez of The Ber... Impact Jets head coach Robert Saleh won't officially name Wilson as the team's Week 12 starter until he meets with the media Wednesday, but the rookie's reappointment atop the depth chart is a foregone conclusion, especially after his competition for the gig -- Mike White and Joe Flacco -- both landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. Flacco's status as an unvaccinated player means he'll automatically be out for the next 10 days, while White tested positive for the virus and seems unlikely to clear all the necessary protocols prior to Sunday. With that in mind, the Jets are expected to promote Josh Johnson from the practice squad to serve as the Week 12 backup behind Wilson, who was inactive for each of New York's previous four games while recovering from a PCL sprain of his right knee. Wilson has been able to practice in some capacity over the past two weeks, and he'll presumably participate in full from Wednesday through Friday this week to clear up any lingering concern about his availability.
