An absence for Sunday's game at the Giants would leave more snaps/routes for some combination of Noah Brown, Luke McCaffrey and Dyami Brown.

Impact His route share (45 percent) and snap share (35 percent) weren't far off from season-long norms, but Zaccheaus uncharacteristically finished without a target. Zaccheaus is this unlikely to put up a big stat line Week 9 at the Giants.

Impact Zaccheaus saw six targets for the second consecutive game to match his season high, though his fantasy intrigue remains muted as he continues to work in short areas of the field. While he's translated his 12 targets combined across the last two games into eight receptions, he's turned that into only 52 yards. In seven total matchups this season, Zaccheaus has topped 30 yards just once.

There's not much likelihood of significant workload growth with Terry McLaurin locked in as the No. 1 receiver and Noah Brown playing well as the No. 2, but Zaccheaus has shockingly busy when he does get on the field, drawing targets on a team-high 31 percent of routes (albeit with a lot of those being screen passes). In any case, there's always risk of the volume not being there when the snap counts are so low, and Zaccheaus had just one catch for 10 yards in the previous game, Week 5 against Cleveland. Expectations should remain modest for Week 7, even in a favorable matchup against the 1-5 Panthers.

Impact Zaccheaus actually got more playing time than he had the week before when he was targeted on six of his nine routes and caught all six passes for 85 yards . With fellow wideout Noah Brown (groin) inactive, Zaccheaus' snap share jumped from 25 percent in Week 4 to 51 percent in Week 5. With or without Brown in the lineup, none of Washington's wideouts besides Terry McLaurin will be a good bet to draw more than three or four targets Week 6 at Baltimore.

Impact Zaccheaus led the Commanders in receiving yards while finishing second on the team in targets behind Terry McLaurin's 10. Washington's run-heavy offense has gone with a WR2 by committee behind McLaurin, and it was Zaccheaus' turn to shine while Noah Brown, Luke McCaffrey and Dyami Brown combined for only 47 receiving yards. Zaccheaus came into this game with only 29 receiving yards all season, so he'll be tough to trust in Week 5 against the Browns despite this breakout effort.

Impact After Zaccheaus saw three targets in each of the first two games, the veteran wideout was a complete non-factor in Monday's contest. Zaccheaus is not a consideration for fantasy purposes as the Commanders will visit the Cardinals in Week 4.

Zaccheaus' minimal production and spot on the depth chart, however, make him a difficult to trust for fantasy purposes going forward barring injuries to Terry McLaurin, Luke McCaffrey or Dyami Brown. The Commanders square off against the Bengals in Week 3.

Splits snaps with Dyami Brown Zaccheaus caught one of three targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 37-20 loss at Tampa Bay, playing 44.6 percent of snaps on offense.

Impact Zacccheaus and Brown shared snaps at one receiver spot while Terry McLaurin mostly played out wide on the left side of the offense and Luke McCaffrey worked the slot. Zaccheaus ended up running 13 routes, which was one more than Brown, who finished without a target. Fantasy value, even in deep leagues, likely will require one of the two to pull away from the other and become a true starter rather than sharing snaps. It remains to be seen if that will happen Week 2 against the Giants or Week 3 against the Bengals.

Dotson, Brown, Zaccheaus and Luke McCaffrey are competing for playing time behind locked-in No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin, with Commanders coach Dan Quinn having recently hinted that the Nos. 2 and 3 roles are up for grabs. Dotson appears likely to take one of the spots, and it's possible the other starts off as a rotation between Brown and Zaccheaus.

Competing for starting job Coach Dan Quinn suggested Thursday that Zaccheaus is competing for the Commanders' No. 2 receiver role, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Impact 2022 first-round pick Jahan Dotson entered camp as a clear favorite for the role, but there have been some signs he's not exactly a lock, including his extended playing time in the preseason opener against New York. Quinn is now confirming there's a competition, with Zaccheaus and Dyami Brown presumably the main candidates to displace Dotson (and rookie third-round pick Luke McCaffrey possibly also in the mix for a top-three role). Zaccheaus only get a few snaps with the first-team offense in the preseason opener, but one of those was a 42-yard catch on the third play of the game.

Looking good for roster spot Zaccheaus is "seemingly battling for rotation reps more than a roster spot," according to The Athletic's Ben Standig.

Impact The depth chart at WR looks wide open behind returning starters Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson, with other leading candidates for the third and fourth spots being rookie third-round pick Luke McCaffrey and fourth-year pro Dyami Brown. While he's never been targeted at a high rate, Zaccheaus had a nice season for Atlanta in 2022, catching 40 of 61 targets for 533 yards and three TDs. He then had minimal impact in Philadelphia last season, catching 10 passes in 17 games while being targeted on a league-low 7.1 percent of his routes.

Moving on to Washington Zaccheaus has agreed to a deal with the Commanders, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Impact In his only campaign with the Eagles, Zaccheaus (who caught 40 passes with the Falcons in 2022) finished the 2023 regular season with 10 catches for 164 yards and two TDs in 17 games. With the Commanders, the 26-year-old will add depth to a wideout corps that is currently led by Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson. In that context, Zaccheaus has some bounce-back potential if he can carve out steady snaps in 2024 behind the team's top duo.
