Misses practice Surtain was pulled out of practice Tuesday with soreness in his lower extremities, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports. Impact According to Coach Vic Fangio, Surtain could have continued practicing, but he was kept out as a precaution. The injury does not appear to be serious, so Surtain's availability for Denver's next preseason game against Seattle is likely not in question. The rookie cornerback is coming off an impressive debut in his first game action in which he scored a touchdown on a 30-yard interception return. Surtain also registered a pass breakup in the contest. The University of Alabama product will look to live up to the high expectations of being a ninth overall draft selection as a member of a defensive backfield with proven veterans Kyle Fuller and Ronald Darby. Surtain's strong technique should help him to make an impact immediately, especially since he may be playing in slot coverage often this season.
