Impact Dean's slide became the story of Day 2 of the NFL Draft as the Georgia linebacker was expected to be an early second-round selection at worst. However, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that teams had medical red flags related to a pectoral injury that prevented him from participating at the combine. If the medicals prove to be a non-issue, this is a strong value pick for Philadelphia. Dean was the quarterback of one of the best college football defenses in recent history. His film showed that he is quick to diagnose plays and has the closing speed to find the ball carrier and finish plays. Dean is on the smaller side for an inside linebacker at 6-foot and 225 pounds, but his football IQ and athleticism will help get him on the field once healthy.

Impact Jason Kelce is 34 and on a one-year deal, so Philadelphia needed to map out its succession plan at center in the draft and did so with Jurgens out of Nebraska. Jurgens is not big for an offensive lineman at 6-foot-3 and 303 pounds , but he compensates with impressive athleticism. His 4.92-second 40-yard dash ranked in the 97th percentile among offensive linemen in combine history. He will likely learn behind Kelce this season before taking over in 2023 if Kelce retires.

Jalen Hurts - Gains new passing target The Eagles bolstered the pass-catching corps that Hurts (ankle) will be working with this coming season by trading for wideout A.J. Brown, Tim McManus of ESPN reports.
Impact The 6-foot-1, 226 pound Brown -- who subsequently agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract with the Eagles -- will provide the team with a talented and experienced wideout to pair with 6-foot, 170-pounder DeVonta Smith, who Philadelphia drafted 10th overall last year. Along with that improved 1-2 WR punch, Hurts also has a quality tight end to throw to in Dallas Goedert, with the likes of Quez Watkins, Zach Pascal and Jalen Reagor also in the mix for passing targets. Hurts, who is bouncing back from an offseason procedure on his ankle, thus has a chance to grow as a passer in his third season as a pro; any improvement on that front would bolster the 2020 second-rounder's fantasy prospects, which last season were driven by his production as a rusher (784 yards, 10 TDs).

Impact Dillard struggled during his rookie 2019 campaign and was sidelined for the 2020 season due to a torn biceps before losing the starting left tackle job to Jordan Mailata last year. Dillard did start five games in 2021 and faired admirably, but there just isn't a good fit for the 2019 first-round pick in Philadelphia with Mailata on the left side and All-Pro Lane Johnson at right tackle. According to OverTheCap, the projected cost for exercising Dillard's fifth-year option is $12.6 million.
