Dylan Cook - Designated to return from IR Cook (undisclosed) was designated to return from injured reserve Thursday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official website reports.
Impact Cook had his 21-day practice window open Thursday, allowing him to return to the field after missing the first six weeks of action while on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury. The team will have to add him to the 53-man roster before the end of the 21 days, otherwise Cook will revert to IR for the remainder of the season.

Impact Coach Mike Tomlin hasn't named a starter, but there have been multiple hints about Wilson taking over this week, including his reps with the first-team offense during Wednesday's practice. Tomlin acknowledged Tuesday that Wilson was under consideration to start this week, even though Justin Fields has gone 4-2 as the starter while accounting for 11 total TDs (six passing, five rushing).

Alex Highsmith - Good to go for Week 7 Highsmith (groin) was a full participant in practice Thursday.
Impact Highsmith has missed the Steelers' last three games due to a groin injury. He returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant, but he was able to practice without restrictions Thursday. Barring any setbacks, Highsmith should reclaim his starting edge rush role opposite T.J. Watt for Sunday's contest against the Jets.

Impact Patterson has been unable to practice this week, and he is in jeopardy of missing a third straight game due to an ankle injury. He'll have to practice in some capacity Friday to give himself a shot to play against the Jets on Sunday. If Patterson is ruled out, Aaron Shampklin would serve as the third-string running back behind Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren.
