Jermaine Burton - Paces pass catchers SaturdayBurton secured three of four targets for 82 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 17-14 preseason loss to the Buccaneers on Saturday night.
ImpactThe rookie logged 18 snaps and surprisingly didn't enter the game until the 3:22 mark of the second quarter. He'd only logged six snaps and was still without a target entering the final period, but he made the most of the final 15 minutes. Burton's biggest play of the night was his 37-yard touchdown grab down the left sideline with 3:33 remaining, and he added a contested 38-yard grab on the first play of Cincinnati's final possession. Burton's reception and receiving yardage tallies shared or held the lead for the Bengals on the night, and the stellar night keeps the rookie firmly in contention with Andrei Iosivas for the No. 3 receiver job.

Andrei Iosivas - Good gain on one catchIosivas brought in his only target for 23 yards in the Bengals' 17-14 preseason loss to the Buccaneers on Saturday night.
ImpactIosivas recorded his chunk play on the Bengals' opening possession, carrying over some of the momentum he's been building in training camp practices. The second-year wideout is thought to have a solid chance of securing the No. 3 receiver role long held by the departed Tyler Boyd, but rookie Jermaine Burton, who led Cincinnati's pass catches with a 3-82-1 line Saturday, is expected to continue making a push for the job over the final two preseason games.

Jalen McMillan - Impressive in preseason winMcMillan secured both targets for 23 yards in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday night.
ImpactMcMillan was able to carry over some of the momentum from his strong training camp performances, recording both his grabs just one play apart during the Buccaneers' second possession. The rookie has been pushing Trey Palmer for the No. 3 receiver job with his work in camp, and the battle could go straight through Tampa Bay's three preseason contests.

Bucky Irving - Solid showing in preseason startIrving rushed six times for 28 yards and a touchdown and brought in one of two targets for no gain in the Buccaneers' 17-14 preseason win over the Bengals on Saturday night. He als...
ImpactIrving drew the start with Rachaad White held out, and the rookie responded with an impressive showing in his first taste of NFL on-field action. The Oregon product also capped off the Buccaneers' only scoring drive of the first half with a five-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter. Irving has reportedly been impressing in training camp practices as well, and he increasingly appears likely to open the season as the No. 2 back with veteran Chase Edmonds (undisclosed) having missed over two weeks of practice and still devoid of a return timeline.
