Kendre Miller - Remains out in preseason game No. 2Miller (hamstring) did not play in Sunday's 16-10 preseason loss to the 49ers.
ImpactMiller has now missed each of the Saints' first two preseason games since injury his hamstring in late July. The 2023 third-round pick's continued absence has drawn increasing pressure from coach Dennis Allen, who reiterated Friday that it will be "challenging" for the running back to make the team if he's not practicing. While it's unlikely the team will move on from Miller this early in his career, he could certainly lose out on his opportunity to win the No. 2 running back spot over veteran Jamaal Williams this preseason. The 22-year-old Miller will look to get healthy in time for this coming Sunday's preseason finale versus the Titans.

Jordan Mims - Leading rusher in preseason lossMims logged 10 carries for 37 yards during Sunday's 16-10 preseason loss to the 49ers. He also returned two kickoffs for 44 net yards.
ImpactMims logged his first carry when the team's starting offense was still in the game early in the second quarter. The 25-year-old also logged more touches and offensive snaps (21) than fellow backup running back James Robinson, who totaled seven touches on 18 offensive snaps. Meanwhile, 2023 third-round pick Kendre Miller continued to sit out after suffering a hamstring injury early in training camp. As long as Miller's absence continues, Mims and Robinson should be in primary contention for New Orleans' No. 3 running back spot heading into the regular season.

Eric Saubert - Eying No. 2 role this preseasonSaubert has two receptions (three targets) for 11 yards through two preseason games with San Francisco.
ImpactThe veteran addition at tight end started both exhibition games while George Kittle sat out with most of the starters on offense. Saubert is known for his blocking skills as opposed to being a vertical threat, so his preseason game log might be a good representation of the kind of fantasy numbers we will see from the 30-year-old in 2024.

George Kittle - Remains ready for Week 1Kittle remains on track to suit up for Week 1 of the regular season despite being held out of both of the 49ers' preseason games.
ImpactKittle spent the months leading up to training camp recovering and then reconditioning from offseason groin surgery. The star tight end's absence from both of San Francisco's completed exhibitions was by design and he does not carry an injury designation as we get closer to the kickoff of the regular season. The rock star tight end is fresh off of his third campaign recording at least 65 receptions, 1,000 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Cameron Latu - Three catches in preseason winLatu corralled three of five targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 16-10 preseason victory over the Saints.
ImpactLatu caught a pair of balls in San Francisco's preseason opener and followed that up with another positive performance. This all follows a lengthy rehab from a torn meniscus that cost the 2023 third-round pick his entire rookie campaign. With consecutive healthy showings this exhibition season, Latu looks ready to officially make his debut with the 49ers. The Alabama product will compete with veteran Eric Saubert for one of the vacant roles backing George Kittle this upcoming season.
