Jaylen Twyman - Signed by Gang GreenThe Jets signed Twyman to a contract Sunday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ImpactThe move comes with the Jets placing wide receiver Malik Taylor (undisclosed) on injured reserve. Twyman was a sixth-round selection by the Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he has not played a single NFL snap. He was part of Miami's training camp in 2023, but did not make the Dolphins' 53-man roster and was not invited to their practice squad. Twyman will compete for a depth spot on the Jets' defensive line behind starters Quinnen Williams (shoudler) and Javon Kinlaw.

Malik Taylor - Going on IRThe Jets placed Taylor on injured reserve with an undisclosed issue Sunday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ImpactTaylor sustained an injury at an early point in the Jets' training camp, according to Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site, though it's unclear exactly when or how this issue arose. The 28-year-old wideout appeared in three games while on the practice squad last year, collecting two of four targets for 13 yards. Taylor previously looked like he had a solid chance to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster this preseason, but he'll now be forced to sit out the entire 2024 campaign unless he is let go from the Jets' IR with an injury settlement.

Demani Richardson - Nabs pick vs. JetsRichardson logged three total tackles and one interception during Saturday's 15-12 preseason loss to the Jets.
ImpactThe 23-year-old safety out of Texas A&M was one of Carolina's few bright spots, picking off Adrian Martinez in the third quarter of Saturday's preseason loss. Richardson could find himself on Carolina's practice squad or even make the team's 53-man roster if he continues to play well for the remainder of the preseason.
AUGUST 18ROTOWIRE
Jammie Robinson - Impresses vs. JetsRobinson finished Saturday's 15-12 preseason loss to the Jets with seven total tackles.
ImpactThe rookie out of Florida State made the most of his opportunities Saturday, leading Carolina in total tackles. If Robinson continues to impress, he could become one of the Panthers' top rotational defensive backs, playing either safety or slot corner, heading into 2024.
AUGUST 18ROTOWIRE
Tyler Conklin - Yet to suit up in preseasonConklin didn't play in Saturday's 15-12 preseason win over the Panthers.
ImpactConklin has been rested thus far in the preseason along with the Jets' other starting skill players on offense. The Jets haven't gotten much production from the tight end position in Conklin's absence during the exhibition slate, so the 29-year-old tight end seems safely locked into the top spot on the depth chart heading into the 2024 regular season, which will commence after the Jets round out their preseason Aug. 24 against the Giants.
AUGUST 18ROTOWIRE
Allen Lazard - Sits first two preseason gamesLazard didn't play in Saturday's 15-12 preseason win over the Panthers.
ImpactLazard is among numerous offensive players who have sat out the Jets' first two preseason games. Despite mustering a meager 311 receiving yards in 2023, Lazard is a lock to make the team in 2024, and the 28-year-old wide receiver is hoping that the return of Aaron Rodgers under center will elevate the entire offense. Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams (knee) are projected to open the season as starters on the outside with Lazard -- who had 788 yards and six touchdowns with Rodgers as his quarterback in Green Bay in 2022 -- in a bench role.
AUGUST 18ROTOWIRE
Dillon Johnson - Shines vs. JetsJohnson rushed 18 times for 83 yards and one touchdown while also hauling in each of his two targets for zero yards during Saturday's 15-12 preseason loss to the Jets.
ImpactEach of Carolina's top three running backs sat for the second straight preseason game Saturday, allowing Johnson to make the most of his increased opportunities. The undrafted rookie out of Washington averaged an efficient 4.6 yards per carry Saturday, which likely boosts his chances of making Carolina's 53-man roster. While Johnson is still comfortably behind Chuba Hubbard, Miles Sanders and Raheem Blackshear, he has a shot at remaining in Carolina if he continues performing at a high level.
