Desmond Ridder - Ready to compete againRidder cleared the league's concussion protocols Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ImpactRidder suffered a concussion during Sunday's preseason loss to the Broncos, so his time in protocols was short-lived. The Cincinnati product is slated to be the Cardinals' backup quarterback this season, and with his quick return to full health should hold that position Week 1 behind Kyler Murray.

Tim Patrick - Stint with Denver about to endThe Broncos have informed Patrick that they plan to release him if they are unable to arrange a trade to send the wideout elsewhere, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
ImpactPatrick, who last saw regular-season action in 2021, appears to have moved past the serious injuries that derailed his last two campaigns. Despite the veteran wideout having had a solid training camp, the Broncos now seem poised to moved on from the 30-year-old. Patrick's looming departure should pave the way for Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin to see added opportunities alongside veteran pass catchers Courtland Sutton and Josh Reynolds.
AUGUST 26ROTOWIRE
Samaje Perine - In line to be cutThe Broncos are slated to release or trade Perine prior to Tuesday's roster cuts deadline, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ImpactPerine is the odd man out in Denver's backfield, with all of Javonte Freeman, Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime having made strong cases for a role this preseason. The eight-year veteran could garner some interest on the trade market for teams in need of proven depth, especially given his skills in pass protection and as a receiver. As a result of Perine's non-guaranteed $3 million salary this season, however, teams could opt to simply wait for his release by the Broncos and then negotiate for a lower contract total.

Xavier Weaver - Gets long look in preseason finaleWeaver caught two of four targets for a team-high 56 yards in Sunday's 38-12 preseason loss to the Broncos. He added 71 yards on two kickoff and two punt returns.
ImpactThe undrafted rookie out of Colorado got a chance to make an impression in the Cardinals' preseason finale and took advantage, showing his ability as a return man and also connecting with Clayton Tune on a 43-yard reception in the second quarter. Weaver is a long shot to crack Arizona's season-opening roster, but with Zay Jones set to miss the first five games after the league handed down a suspension Friday, the 23-year-old at least picked a good time to have a strong performance.
AUGUST 26ROTOWIRE
Chris Moore - One catch SundayMoore caught his only target for seven yards in Sunday's 38-12 preseason loss to the Broncos.
ImpactWhile he didn't make much of a statistical impact, Moore's lone catch came on the Cardinals' first drive of the game, suggesting he's in the lead for one of the final spots on the wide receiver depth chart. With Zay Jones (suspension) set to miss the first five games of the season, that could open up some slot snaps for a player like Moore, although Greg Dortch should get first crack at that role.
