Impact This was an uncharacteristic showing from Woods, especially after collecting 105 receiving yards in the season opener. However, the touchdown saved his fantasy day, and the 28-year-old receiver should return to being more involved in the passing attack in Week 3. While Woods is definitely a tier or two behind the top fantasy wide receivers, his production floor is high, and he's also proven to be one of the more reliable weekly contributors during his tenure with the Rams.

Impact Woods is 28 year old and has two seasons remaining on his current deal, so it appears the Rams now have him under contract through his age-33 campaign. The team also has Jared Goff, Cooper Kupp and Tyler Higbee signed long term, providing a solid foundation for the passing game. Woods should be in a good mood for his Sunday matchup with the Eagles, though it's possible he sees regular coverage from veteran cornerback Darius Slay.

Closing in on extension Coach Sean McVay said Thursday that the Rams expect to sign Woods to a contract extension "very shortly," Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.

Impact McVay said that the Rams are working towards "something similar" to the three-year, $48 million contract Cooper Kupp received earlier this month for Woods. In a Thursday video conference with reporters, Woods himself said that he hopes to have an agreement finalized before suiting up against Eagles on Sunday. The 28-year-old, who compiled six catches for 105 receiving yards in Los Angeles' season opener, is currently under contract through 2021 and set to earn a $9 million base salary next year.

Impact This was a typical fantasy performance from Woods; he put in work between the 20's, wasn't much of a red-zone target (eight touchdowns over last two seasons) and was good for one end around on the ground (averaged 1.1 carries per game in 2019). The 28-year-old led the club in yardage, receptions and targets on a night where the Rams leaned more on its rushing attack (40 rushes to 20 pass attempts) to chip away at the Cowboys' defense. With Brandin Cooks playing in Houston and a reluctance to use tight ends heavily in the passing game, Woods and Cooper Kupp will split duties as Jared Goff's top targets this season. Whichever starter is not shadowed by Darius Slay could be in line for a huge game against the Eagles on Sunday.
