Badgley will presumably be elevated to the 53-man roster by Saturday if the Colts aren't confident Blankenship will be ready to kick Sunday against the Texans.

Blankenship was clearly limited by the injury in the Colts' Week 5 loss to the Ravens on Monday, telling Stephen Holder of The Athletic that he felt "stabbing pain" in his right hip prior to the contest. Though he proceeded to play through the pain, he missed one of two extra-point attempts, had a 37-yard field-goal attempt blocked and misfired on another try from 47 yards that would have won the game.

Impact Blankenship obviously wasn't right after suffering the injury, missing one of two extra points and two of four field goal attempts. One of his field goal misses would have won his team the game as time expired. It's currently unclear if the injury will force Blankenship to miss time, but the Colts will likely audition other placekickers heading into Week 6 against the Texans.

Impact Undrafted last year, Blankenship won the job with a strong training camp and converted 32 of 37 field-goal attempts (86.5 percent) in the regular season. However, he had just three attempts from 50-plus yards, missing two, and then missed a field goal in a playoff loss to Buffalo.
