Removed from practice squad IR The Browns restored Switzer (undisclosed) from the practice squad injured list Tuesday.

Impact Switzer was placed on the list in early November. The Browns currently have three wide receivers on injured reserve, and KhaDarel Hodge (hamstring) is questionable heading into Week 14, so Switzer could be in line for a promotion before the season ends.

Impact Switzer spent the last two years in Pittsburgh, and he'll now remain in the division as an emergency wideout option for the Browns. He also boasts significant experience as a return man, something Cleveland can use in the wake of losing JoJo Natson (torn ACL) for the season.

Cast aside by Steelers Switzer (foot) was waived by the Steelers on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Impact The Steelers could try to bring back Switzer with some injury-related roster shenanigans, but for the moment he'll pass through waivers. The selection of Chase Claypool in the 2020 NFL Draft and emergence of castaway Ray-Ray McCloud made Switzer's skillset expendable, although his status as a 2017 fourth-round pick likely will secure, at minimum, a practice-squad spot down the road.

Still not practicing Head coach Mike Tomlin said Switzer (foot) is day-to-day after missing Friday's practice, Tribune-Review Sports reports.

Impact Switzer sustained the injury during Tuesday's practice and hasn't made it back onto the field yet, but Tomlin doesn't seem too concerned. The 25-year-old should return soon, but most of his contributions this year will be as a returner since the Steelers selected receiver Chase Claypool in the second round of April's draft.

Injures foot Tuesday Switzer suffered a foot injury at Tuesday's practice, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.

Impact Switzer did not return to practice after suffering the injury. Health permitting, Switzer looks primed to serve as a depth receiver and contributor in the return games for Pittsburgh.
