Impact Though Ahmed is out this week, the Dolphins have the option of activating Myles Gaskin (knee) from IR in advance of Sunday's game. Per Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com, Brian Flores relayed that the team plans to review the practice film on Gaskin before determining his Week 12 status. Miami's other backfield options include Matt Breida, Patrick Laird and DeAndre Washington.

The undrafted rookie was able to retake the field versus Denver, but if seems as though the issue is still bothering him. Ahmed will have two more chances to resume practicing before the Dolphins have to assign him with an injury tag for Week 12, but this backfield situation now warrants close monitoring. Myles Gaskin (knee) was designated for return from IR on Wednesday, and offseason trade acquisition Matt Breida is still awaiting his first shot at a lead role in Miami.

Impact The Dolphins' offense struggled to move the ball in general, but Ahmed was at least the clear No. 1 back despite briefly leaving the game with a shoulder injury, as Matt Breida received only two touches and Patrick Laird one. Ahmed should see similar volume in Week 12 against a Jets defense that's been far more vulnerable through the air than on the ground this season.
