GAME LOG

INJURIES

Paces team in rushing yards Sunday Perine rushed six times for 31 yards and caught his only target for seven yards in Sunday's Week 14 loss to Buffalo. He also returned two kickoffs for 49 yards.
Impact As usual, Chase Brown worked as Cincinnati's clear lead back, but he managed just 23 yards on 12 carries (albeit with a touchdown on the ground and another through the air). Perine was much more efficient with 31 yards on just six carries, though he didn't get into the end zone. Perine has posted a hearty 5.2 YPC on the campaign; however, he's averaged a modest 24.4 rush yards per contest as Brown's backup, so he isn't likely to have much fantasy value unless Brown were to miss time.

Bengals' dominant win over Ravens sparks hope for late-season playoff push

The Cincinnati Bengals have gained momentum with a 31-14 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night
NOVEMBER 28 • Associated Press
Fumbles in return to action Perine rushed 14 times for 39 yards and brought in both targets for 15 yards in the Bengals' 32-14 win over the Ravens on Thursday night. He also lost a fumble.
Impact Perine returned from a two-game absence due to an ankle injury and saw only one fewer carry than backfield mate Chase Brown, but he gained exactly half of the latter's 78 rushing yards. Perine also lost his second fumble of the season at the Ravens' 14-yard line with just over five minutes remaining, but the Bengals were able to regain possession five plays later when they forced the ball from Zay Flowers after a reception. Perine should continue slotting into a relatively solid complementary role moving forward now that he's back to full health.

Logs full practice Tuesday Perine was a full participant at practice Tuesday.
Impact Perine was estimated as a full participant for the Bengals' walkthrough practice Monday, and he was able to run full drills Tuesday, keeping him on track to play in Week 13. With rookie sixth-rounder Tahj Brooks already having been ruled out, Perine figures to be the Cincinnati backfield's primary change-of-pace back behind starter Chase Brown on Thanksgiving Day at Baltimore.

Bengals running back nears return from two-game absence | Sporting News Cincinnati Bengals backup RB Samaje Perine was given a new injury update after missing the past two games with a high ankle sprain.
NOVEMBER 24 • SPORTINGNEWS.COM
Estimated as full practice Monday Perine (ankle) was estimated as a full participant on Monday's practice report, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Perine has missed each of the Bengals' past two contests after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 9. With Tahj Brooks (concussion) already ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Ravens, Perine appears set to return behind Chase Brown. Perine had been handling a decent chunk of the pass-down and two-minute work for Cincinnati prior to his injury, so his return could be a small hit to Brown's fantasy outlook.
NOVEMBER 24 • ROTOWIRE
Missing second straight game Perine (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Impact Listed as doubtful heading into Sunday after failing to practice in any fashion this week, Perine will unsurprisingly wind up missing a second straight game. His absence will clear the way for Tahj Brooks to serve as the No. 2 running back behind starter Chase Brown, who should continue to see increased involvement on passing downs sans Perine.
NOVEMBER 23 • ROTOWIRE
Officially doubtful for Week 12 Perine (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Impact Perine's doubtful designation was expected based on reporting from earlier in the week. He sprained his ankle in Week 9 against the Bears and hasn't played since. Chase Brown will likely maintain a near-monopoly on Cincinnati's backfield touches Sunday, with Tahj Brooks as the next man up if Perine's ruled out.
NOVEMBER 21 • ROTOWIRE
Considered doubtful for Week 12 Perine (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Perine is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain sustained during Cincinnati's loss to the Bears in Week 9, and it appears as though he'll need to spend at least one more game on the sidelines. Tahj Brooks handled seven offensive snaps with Perine unavailable versus Pittsburgh in Week 11, his second-highest total of the season, though he only logged one carry for five yards while Chase Brown continued to handle a workhorse role.
NOVEMBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
Won't play Sunday Perine (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Impact With Perine -- who didn't practice this week -- unavailable and targeting a return to action Nov. 23 against the Patriots, Tahj Brooks is in line to serve as Chase Brown's top backup this weekend. The Bengals also have the option of elevating RBs Gary Brightwell and/or Kendall Milton from their practice squad ahead of Week 11 action.
NOVEMBER 14 • ROTOWIRE
Sits out another practice Perine (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Impact Perine appears to be trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's contest against the Steelers due to a high-ankle sprain, though he hasn't been officially ruled out yet. If Perine is indeed ruled out for Sunday's contest, rookie Tahj Brooks will benefit from an opportunity to handle increased work behind Chase Brown.

Steelers will try to hold on to first in the AFC North when Joe Flacco and Bengals visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers will try to snap out of a month-long funk when the Cincinnati Bengals visit Acrisure Stadium
NOVEMBER 13 • Associated Press
No practice Wednesday Perine (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Perine's lack of practice activity coming out of Cincinnati's bye isn't entirely surprising, considering that he's working his way back from a high-ankle sprain suffered during the team's loss to Chicago in Week 9. If Perine isn't able to gain clearance for Sunday's contest against the Steelers, Tahj Brooks will stand to operate as the No. 2 option behind backfield leader Chase Brown.

On mend from high-ankle sprain Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said that Perine sustained a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's 47-42 loss to the Bears and will need a couple of weeks to recover, Jay Morrison of SI.com...
Impact Perine finished with five yards on his lone carry and was limited to six snaps (one on offense, five on special teams) before exiting Sunday's contest with the injury. Though Perine seems more likely than not to miss game action, he'll benefit from a Week 10 bye before the Bengals reassess his condition once they resume practicing ahead of their Week 11 game in Pittsburgh on Nov. 16. Perine's early departure in Week 9 paved the way for starting running back Chase Brown to take on his largest snap share of the season (96 percent).

Won't be back Sunday Perine (ankle) won't return to Sunday's game against the Bears.
Impact With the Bengals on bye next week, Perine's next chance to see game action will arrive Nov. 16 against the Steelers. In his absence Sunday, Tahj Brooks is next in line for backfield work behind starter Chase Brown. Meanwhile, fellow RBs Gary Brightwell and Kendall Milton are currently members of Cincinnati's practice squad.
NOVEMBER 2 • ROTOWIRE
Hurts ankle Sunday Perine exited Sunday's game against the Bears after sustaining a right ankle injury.
Impact Before that, Perine had carried once for five yards. While he's sidelined, 2025 sixth-rounder Tahj Brooks is next up for backfield touches behind Chase Brown.

Defensive issues hurt Bengals once again in loss to previously winless Jets

All those good vibes that Joe Flacco brought to Cincinnati were wiped out by one of the worst defensive performances in franchise history
OCTOBER 27 • Associated Press
Best game of season in loss Perine rushed nine times for 94 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for six yards in Sunday's 39-38 loss to the Jets.
Impact Perine gave the Bengals a seemingly comfortable 31-16 lead with a 32-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter, but the Jets won the fourth 23-7 to pick up their first win of the season. Chase Brown produced 108 total yards and two touchdowns on 15 touches, but Perine's strong play Sunday could help the veteran running back earn an expanded role moving forward. Heading into a Week 9 home game against the Bears, Brown remains the Bengals' top backfield option over Perine.
