Joins Cowboys' practice squad Dallas signed Williams to its practice squad Wednesday.

Impact Williams didn't make the cut for the Jaguars' 53-man roster ahead of the beginning of the regular season, but now he's getting a fresh shot with the Cowboys. The team only has five healthy wideouts on its active roster right now, so it's not out of the question that Williams could be elevated sooner than later.

Impact Williams spent all of 2023 on the Jaguars' practice squad, and his last NFL action was in 2021 with the Broncos. He finished the preseason with three catches for 15 yards across three games. Assuming Williams clears waivers, the 2021 sixth-round pick will look to catch on with a team's practice squad.

Sticks with Jacksonville The Jaguars signed Williams to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Impact Williams signed with the Jaguars' practice squad after being waived by Denver ahead of the initial 53-man roster deadline. He spent the entire campaign with Jacksonville but wasn't elevated for any games. With his new contract, he'll be able to stick around the organization and compete for a roster spot during the offseason.

Back at practice Williams was an active participant during Denver's opening day of training camp Wednesday, The Colorado Springs Gazette reports.

Impact Williams missed time during the Broncos' minicamp in June for undisclosed reasons. The wideout spent the majority of his 2021 rookie campaign on Denver's practice squad, and he figures to compete with Kendall Hinton, Montrell Washington and Travis Fulgham for the team's final wide-receiver spot during training camp.

Impact In two games, Williams played a total of 47 offensive snaps. The rookie wideout was waived by the Broncos in August and subsequently spent time on the team's practice squad before being signed to the active roster Jan. 3. Former head coach Vic Fangio was impressed with his performance in Week 17, earning him an active roster spot. The 21-year-old Auburn product joins a crowded wide receiver room in Denver, headlined by the team's top trio of Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick. If Williams remains a member of the Broncos in 2022, he'll have an uphill battle to see meaningful playing time for fantasy purposes.

Impact Williams was bumped up from the practice squad last week with Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick in COVID protocols. He had one 34-yard reception on one target against the Chargers. Swanson's report adds that head coach Vic Fangio was impressed with Williams' performance, which earned him the active roster spot. He'll look to make an impact in Week 18 against the Chiefs.

Impact Williams will have a chance to play a significant role Sunday against the Chargers. This would place Williams as high as third on the positional depth chart, behind Kendall Hinton and Diontae Spencer. Impact Williams reportedly tested positive for the virus, so his return indicates he has provided two consecutive negative tests 24 hours apart. He will now return to practice per usual.

Impact Williams impressed over three years at Auburn, recording 132 receptions for 2,124 yards and 17 touchdowns across 33 games. The 21-year-old has an NFL frame (6-foot-2, 211 pounds) and solid speed (4.49 40-yard dash), but he couldn't find a role in Denver's deep receiver corps. With two weeks until the regular season, it wouldn't be surprising to see another team take a chance on him on waivers.
