Added to active roster Shrader was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against Houston.

Impact Matt Gay missed practice all week after undergoing surgery on a sports hernia following Indianapolis' last preseason game Aug. 22. Shrader's promotion would appear to indicate Gay will not play Sunday, but we won't know for sure until inactives are announced about 90 minutes before a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Impact Shrader was facing an uphill battle to beat out Matt Gay for the team's kicker job, but he did manage to earn a practice squad deal out of the team. An undrafted free agent out of USF, Shrader will likely have a chance to be the team's kicked if Gay gets injured.

Impact Shrader signed with the Colts in May as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. He was brought in to compete against Matt Gay for the starting kicking job, and Shrader finished the preseason making both of his field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries. Shrader should catch onto another team's practice squad if he clear waivers.
