Impact Taking the field hours after some sudden rumblings about his future surfaced, Brady didn't exactly put together a convincing body of work in a first half during which the Buccaneers punted on three possessions and ended two others with a missed field goal and an interception. The offense largely remained stuck in the mud for a good chunk of the second half as well, but Brady and his teammates gave the Tampa faithful one final thrill in the team's title-defense season when he connected on a 55-yard touchdown pass to Mike Evans with 3:20 remaining to bring the Bucs within a touchdown and then led a seven-play drive following a Cam Akers fumble that culminated in a Leonard Fournette game-tying nine-yard touchdown run. Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp would go on to crush the Buccaneers' hopes on the Rams' ensuing game-winning drive, but Brady finished with a strong stat line for fantasy purposes after looking like he'd seriously underwhelm from that perspective for much of the afternoon. The focus will now undoubtedly turn to the Hall of Famer's future, which may take some time to become clearer following the abrupt end to a quest for a second straight Super Bowl title.
