Jaelon Darden - Moved to COVID-19 list Darden (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Impact Darden isn't expected to test his way out of COVID-19 protocols in time to face the Panthers on Sunday. The Buccaneers are banged up at wide receiver, but the rookie fourth-round pick's impact has been limited primarily to special teams up to this point, anyway. Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller are expected to return kickoffs and punts, respectively, for the duration of Darden's absence.

Lavonte David - Moves to IR Tampa Bay placed David (foot) on injured reserve Thursday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Impact Multiple reports previously suggested that David would miss multiple games after he injured his foot in Sunday's 9-0 loss to the Saints, and his move to IR now makes the matter official. He'll remain sidelined through the end of the regular season, with Tampa Bay presumably hopeful that three weeks of rest and recovery will be enough for David to be healthy in advance of a potential postseason run. Due to his early shutdown, David will fall just short of the 100-tackle mark -- he's recorded 97 in 12 games -- for only the second time in his 10 NFL seasons.

Leonard Fournette - Done for regular season Tampa Bay placed Fournette (hamstring) on injured reserve Thursday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Impact Head coach Bruce Arians demurred Wednesday when asked if the hamstring strain Fournette suffered in the Week 15 loss to the Saints would force him to IR, but after further deliberation on the matter, the Buccaneers officially decided to shut the running back down. The transaction means Fournette will miss the final three games of the regular season, but Tampa Bay is presumably hopeful that Fournette will be ready to go for the start of the playoffs if the Buccaneers are able to secure a spot. In the meantime, Ronald Jones is set to fill in as Tampa Bay's lead back over the next three contests, and he could have a path to a near-every-down role through Week 17 with pass-catching specialist Giovani Bernard (knee) also on IR. Ke'Shawn Vaughn and the newly signed Le'Veon Bell are left as the depth options behind Jones.

Impact Brown returned to the Buccaneers earlier this week after serving a three-game suspension with his preexisting ankle issue still hindering him. He managed back-to-back limited listings on the team's first two Week 16 practice reports, but coach Bruce Arians mentioned Wednesday that Brown's ankle is "fine," and the wide receiver appeared to be back to pre-injury form, per Greg Auman of The Athletic. With Chris Godwin (knee) on injured reserve and Mike Evans (hamstring) also compromised on the health front, Brown could be in line for a hefty workload Sunday at Carolina, assuming he puts his own concern behind him.

With Chris Godwin (knee) shut down for the season and Antonio Brown (ankle) not a safe bet to suit up this weekend either coming off a 10-week absence due to injury and suspension, the Buccaneers could be without their top three receivers. Even the depth behind the trio is being tested to some degree, as Breshad Perriman is still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, while Justin Watson (knee) resumed practicing earlier this month but has yet to be activated from the reserve/PUP list.
