Miami Dolphins pass rusher Jaelan Phillips said the knee injury he suffered against the Tennessee Titans on Monday night will require season-ending surgery

Impact A ligament injury in a baseball pitcher's throwing elbow would normally lead to Tommy John surgery and a lengthy recovery timeline, but Simmons relayed Tuesday that he does not require a procedure at this time. He was seen in street clothes with a large brace on his left elbow during the Titans' 31-12 win over the Dolphins on Monday. Tennessee is on a bye in Week 5, and Simmons' goal is to continue to work with trainers to gain full extension in his left arm. The 2019 first-round pick said he expects to return for Week 6 against the Colts on Oct. 13. Simmons has logged 12 tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, across three regular-season games this year.

Impact Landry was responsible for one of the Titans' two sacks Sunday. He got to Tyler Huntley midway through the first quarter for a nine-yard sack on third down, forcing the Dolphins to punt the ball on the next play. Landry got to Huntley again late in the fourth quarter, which caused the Miami quarterback to throw the ball away in the end zone that was ultimately ruled an intentional grounding penalty resulting in a safety. Landry is now up to 4.0 sacks this season, which is tied for fifth in the NFL.

However, it sounds like it could be a multi-week absence for Coburn, according to Wyatt. More clarity on his status moving forward won't likely come until the team begins Week 6 prep.

Getting better Simmons (elbow) is feeling much better Tuesday, after resting last week and sitting out the Titans' win over the Dolphins on Monday, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.

Impact Simmons suffered the injury during Week 4's loss to the Packers and has remained sidelined since. The Mississippi State product told McCormick the injury was UCL-related and the recommendation was rest, not surgery, which seems to have worked thus far. With Tennesse having a Week 5 bye, Simmons will have until Sunday, Oct. 13 to continue his recovery before having the chance to play again.

Levis will benefit from an extra week of rest before a decision on his availability against the Bills in Week 6, on Oct. 13, has to be made.

Levis is mistake-prone but can push the ball downfield more effectively with his stronger arm. Coach Brian Callahan said after the game that the decision to ride Rudolph was purely injury-related, per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com. With a Week 5 bye to recover, Levis will likely reclaim the starting job in Week 6 against the Colts. Levis threw his sixth interception of the season prior to getting hurt, so his leash may be getting shorter, though Rudolph didn't exactly light it up Monday.
