Battling foot injury Walker (foot) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
Impact The team hasn't revealed the nature or severity of Walker's foot injury, but he's in danger of missing Sunday's game versus the Vikings unless he can get back onto the practice field by Friday. Walker has already stacked up 51 tackles and four pass breakups through seven games, so it'd be a key loss to the Lions' defense if he can't go. Jayron Kearse is the next man up at free safety if Walker misses out.

Impact When the safety leads the team in tackles it's often a discouraging sign for the defense, and that was again the case Sunday as Indianapolis racked up 262 yards through the air and 119 yards on the ground along with five total touchdowns. Despite the off day from Detroit's defense, Walker's coverage numbers have been respectable to this point in the season, as he's held opponents to a 52 percent completion rate with 4.8 yards per target.

Leads team in tackles Sunday Walker recorded 12 tackles (10 solo) across 65 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.
Impact Walker continues to be a tackling machine this season, as he now has 23 tackles on the year. After playing in limited snaps in Week 2, Walker was back on track Sunday as he did not miss a single defensive snap alongside fellow safety Duron Harmon. The young safety will now shift his focus to Sunday's matchup with the Saints.

Impact After logging at least 99 percent of the defensive snaps in over half of his games in 2019, both Walker and Will Harris saw a tad under 90 percent in the season opener while Duron Harmon didn't come off the field. Walker finished tops in the stat sheet, though, as Harmon and Harris each had five tackles apiece. If Detroit remains without its top three corners in Week 2, the Lions defense could struggle to get off the field, which could lead to plenty of playing time for each of Walker, Harmon and Harris.
