Impact Flowers has a dislocated finger, but it's not holding him back in practice. He could be in line for a starting role Sunday depending on Quinton Dunbar's (knee) availability. Even if Dunbar plays, Flowers could see an increase in his snap count as the potential nickel safety since S Marquise Blair (torn ACL) is out for the year.

Suffers dislocated finger Flowers dislocated his finger during Sunday's 35-30 win over the Patriots, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Impact Coach Pete Carroll said Flowers will play through this injury. Flowers lost the starting job to Quinton Dunbar anyway, so his reps have been limited. However, with Marquise Blair (knee) out for the season, the nickel safety job has opened up. Ugo Amadi is the favorite to secure the role, but Flowers played safety in college and could enjoy a bump in usage moving forward.

Flowers played safety at Oklahoma State but converted to cornerback when he was drafted by the Seahawks in 2018, and although there are still question marks, he's made steady improvements during his NFL career. This will be a defining season for the 25-year-old.

Impact Flowers doesn't currently appear in any danger of missing Week 1, but it'll be worth monitoring his return to practice. His main competition for the starting gig opposite Shaquill Griffin is Quinton Dunbar, who missed the early portion of training camp due to legal issues.

Impact Griffin improved in coverage this season, as he yielded 7.3 yards per target and 39.9 receiving yards per game with just four touchdowns allowed. He served as the team's No. 1 corner opposite Tre Flowers, and Griffin earned an alternate bid to the Pro Bowl. Griffin -- a 2017 third-round pick -- is heading into the final year of his contract in 2020.
