Impact Samuel suffered another lower-body injury in Sunday's 33-6 thrashing of the Patriots, and coach Kyle Shanahan said his starting wideout will "miss some time," Chris Biderman of The Sacramento Bee reports. Taylor has been relegated to special teams duties ever since Samuel returned from his first stint on IR, but the traditional slot man should resume his previous role for however long his teammate is forced to sit out. Jimmy Garoppolo has looked healthy and productive over his last two games, so Taylor could pop up in deeper PPR formats with an expanded role.

Impact Taylor had a bit of an injury scare Wednesday, as he popped up on the injury report with the ankle issue. As evidenced by this news, the Louisiana Tech product appears healthy for Week 5. Expect Taylor to assume his usual depth role at receiver, as well as being deployed as the team's punt return man.

Impact While George Kittle and Jerick McKinnon soaked up 56.1 percent of the target share, receivers Kendrick Bourne (six targets), Brandon Aiyuk (five targets) and Deebo Samuel (three targets) claimed much of the remaining passing-game work against the Eagles. Even with a myriad of injuries to the WR position in the early going of 2020, Taylor has only attracted five total targets the past three games. He was granted somewhat of an opportunity in the season opener against Arizona with five targets, but since that point, his offensive involvement has largely gone by the wayside.

Impact Taylor got the start at the slot receiver position for the third week in a row, but he was held to two receptions or less over that same span. Despite being up big for the majority of the contest, the 49ers still threw the ball 36 times, so volume wasn't the issue either. It simply appears that Taylor isn't very high in the pecking order for targets from either of San Francisco's signal-callers so far this season. The slot man will face another soft defensive matchup in Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football, but it would be tough to recommend Taylor based on the recent lack of production, especially if this ends up being the week Deebo Samuel (foot) is activated off of IR.

Impact Taylor clearly didn't have great chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo after missing most of the past two seasons due to injury. Despite occupying a significant role, Taylor won't have much fantasy value heading into a matchup with the Jets on a team that utilizes its tight ends and running backs heavily in the passing game.

His quiet 2018 season (26 catches, 215 yards and one touchdown) and the injury bring question to his roster security as he enters the final year of his rookie deal.
