In line for major role Simpson is expected to start next to Roquan Smith at inside linebacker for the Ravens this season, Giana Han of The Baltimore Banner reports.
Impact Simpson only played 46 snaps on defense during his rookie campaign in 2023, but he did manage to record a sack and recover a fumble while doing so. The departure of Patrick Queen to the Steelers left a hole next to Smith at linebacker, and the Clemson product appears to be the leading candidate to fill it. With expectations of earning the role, the second-year pro has been studying tape of Queen, while also forming a tighter bond with Smith.
