GM noncommittal about future General manager Brad Holmes was noncommittal about Flowers' (knee) future in the organization during Tuesday's press conference, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports. Impact Flowers has largely disappointed in Detroit since landing a five-year, $90 million contract under the Lions' previous regime in 2019. While injuries have played a large role in his lack of production, Detroit could save more than $10 million against the salary cap by letting Flowers go this offseason. He appeared in just seven games in 2021, finishing with 24 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
