Impact Flowers signed with the Patriots on a one-year deal on Aug. 8 after spending last season with Miami and the three previous campaigns with the Lions. He didn't have the chance to suit up in the regular season, and although he was designated for return from the reserve/PUP list on Oct. 5, he didn't seem to progress enough with his foot injury for the Patriots to keep him on the roster. If Flowers clears waivers, he'll look to catch onto another roster elsewhere.

Impact Flowers has missed Miami's last six games as he continues to recover from a foot injury he sustained in Week 6 versus Minnesota, and McDaniel's comments would suggest he's likely to miss at least one or two more weeks. Impact Flowers has largely disappointed in Detroit since landing a five-year, $90 million contract under the Lions' previous regime in 2019. While injuries have played a large role in his lack of production, Detroit could save more than $10 million against the salary cap by letting Flowers go this offseason.
